I posted this in my thoughts about the DC auto show and wanted to bring it up here....

so i was talking to the girls at the camaro display at DC and was playing dumb about ambient lighting and specifically ask what it is, what it does, etc etc. So they went on about how lights up and is a very nice blue glow and then pointed out to me how it goes along the doors AND AROUND THE DASH. Then they went on to say it looks really good lit up, and I ask them if they had seen it specifically around the dash and both of them said they had and it looked great!!! They couldnt even open the doors so they couldnt show it to me but take it for what its worth

Maybe they are going to work like hell, exhaust every option, and put 24/7 time in until there is no way to get it done? Regardless they don't have to tell us anything until they are ready.

Which is why this conversation is frustrating for so many. GM has nothing to gain by telling us their plan of attack on ABL. Nor are we entitled to know their plan. GM is obligated to tell us if ABL will be available as promised. If not they are obligated to correct the cost appropriately.

Again, why say something now, if they don't know the outcome? Why risk it? This thing is probably down to the wire. Now, if they already know there will be a degradation to ABL, and they are sitting on it, then I'd concede to you that would be bad form on their part. But that is a guess and you are trying to infer this to be the case from a post by Number3, who's been gone since this conversation started. Odd coincidence. I'm not saying anything bad happened but, he's probably keeping his distance as to not confuse the issue. Which is the basis for my whole position on this topic.

That's the bottom line for me.

We may just have to agree to disagree.
Woa woa there. I am not trying to infer anything from Number3's posts other than that they know more but aren't telling us for some reason. That's it and that's what he all but said himself.

So doing right by their customers is "nothing to gain"? Sure, transparency may not have some dollar amount attached to it but it sure wouldn't hurt. As long as they're clear and honest, I don't see how anything bad could come of that.

Look, I don't think GM is obligated to tell us anything. But I think they should. And I am merely requesting that they do the "right" thing and be upfront with us on the issue. With that said, what makes you think they're obligated to adjust the price? They're no more obligated to do that than they are tell us what's going on.

I would argue that they are more obligated to adjust the price than they are to tell us the details on the ABL Issue.

As most of you on your side of this issue have stated, they have shown pics and vids of ABL. All of which are used to generate interest and then sales. Then they set the MSRP with the fully functional ABL included. Now if ABL isn't delivered as they advertised it, they should lower the price or give you a raincheck to get it installed for free when it's ready.

JMHO.

As far as the rest of your questions go, I've already answered them in my earlier posts.

So, moving forward I'm done, Feel free to hash this out. But, I'm just tired of this conversation. I've stated my position and I respect yours. We just don't agree. So, with out any disrespect to your opinion, I respectfully withdraw from the conversation.

Hopefully you'll get the answers you seek.

I'm tired reading about it, but I still do in hopes that something new will be revealed.

The only problem I have with a price adjustment is that some dealers might not feel obligated to adjust the price down from the original MSRP. "You signed at this price, we aren't lowering it" could come into play. Not GM's problem but most dealers, well, are a problem.

yeah its a pretty decent show. I thought the philly show was a little better but the DC show was pretty good. the Jaguar display was really nice, they also had a couple Ferraris, lambos, astons, as well as tesla and fisker represented.

i agree with gtahvit, they are probably keeping their mouths shut because they dont know if they will be able to get it sorted out in time, why would they want to say it wont be done in time but then end up being able to? or vise-versa.

Thanks! I just wish I could get a closeup look at the Camaro and sit in it. I get the feeling GM didn't really take this show seriously, but the other displays sound pretty cool....I may just have to go check it out.

Well, enough with the ABL, I couldn't contain myself anymore and I went down and preordered today. IOM with Cyber Gray stripes. (2SS/RS)...and Inferno Orange Interior.

I am stoked right now. I've come to the realization that, although ABL would be incredible to have, the real meaning behind it is the 426 pure, unadulterated American horses wrapped in pure sexiness.
