prove me wrong.

wrong, amigo... the magazines said the Z28 was a mid 13 second car, not the real world results... real world results showed the Z28 as getting into the 12s on a regular basis... my 2002 Z28, bone stock, ran a 12.86@109.8 at SAR on a ~76* night with low humidity... there are several on LS1Tech and other Camaro sites that were even lower with better and lighter drivers than me (I weighed, at the time, 270lbs)

you're benchracing, not real world racing... yes, there were alot of Z28s in the mid 13s due to crappy drivers... no, that was not always the case.

and, for the record, the '03 Cobra I ran did a 12.94@110.3 on the same run... would he have passed me if he had had about another 300ft of run time? yes... did he beat me? no

so if a crappy driver drives an 03 cobra the number sticks? but if a crappy driver drives an 02 z28 the numbers and invalid... turtle....

Come on. your being silly instead of being so biased why dont you accept that the same rules apply with your car as far as crappy drivers are concerned? 12.94 in an 03 cobra is a crappy driver and you know it (but you wont admit it)

I've honestly never seen a stock Terminator run faster than a 12.7... seriously... of all the Cobras I've seen run at SAR and HRP, none of them has been stock and faster than that... I'm not joking... a 12.94 is a respectable time in that car, as far as I know... now I've seen turbo conversions go down into the 10s with wrinkle walls and transmission mods to back them up... but I've never seen a stock Terminator run faster than 12.7, so I thought they were supposed to run that way... the 12.7 car was running a 112mph trap speed, so I figured it was faster than a GT500 and never thought any more of it.

I used to hear the Mach1 guys talk about how their cars ran in the 12s... and I couldnt find a single one on the Mach1 registry forum that ran that kind of time stock... not a one

and for the record, I'm not a mullet wearing GM fanboy... I love my GM cars and trucks, but deep down inside, I'm a Mopar guy and I love the new Challenger... I just wish it were smaller... and lighter... and had a better interior... lol

p.s: evan smith also manages a 12.25 out of a stock gt 500

since I dont troll Ford Forums, you're right, I've never seen those times... lol

now that is faster than any stock Z28 I've ever seen... good driver or bad.

the only Ford forum that I ever bothered to register on and post on was the Mach1 Registry site... and those guys were just such tools... they were all talk and no show (very much like most of the Mustang guys here in central Texas)... and I will admit that the forged internals of the Terminator made it an awesome car to mod... but much like Camaro is now, it was late to the game... they had won... and it only lasted 2 years because of that.

so now lets do some comparing... since you're a Mustang guy, find me the fastest stock GT500 timeslip and lets compare the 2010 Camaro SS to the stock GT500... and then we'll add a little to the current GT500's numbers to account for the extra 40 ponies of the 2010 GT500

I know because I raced them stock for stock at San Antonio Raceway

the last time a stock NA Mustang beat a stock NA Camaro was in 1995, when some of the GTs (which still had 5.0L V8s) were able to outrun the LT1 cars... in 1996, Ford introduced the 4.6L mod motor and it took them until '99 to get it past 300hp, and even then, it wasn't as fast as the LS1 f-bodies.

quit benchracing and quote some real world numbers.
The Camaro/GTA have been out of production for years, over priced for what they were and people stoped buying them and GM stoped making them, when the last Z28's where on the market they were way way more expensive than the GT Mustang and closer to the price of a Vett, they were the baddest things on the road because they could out run the Mustang according to you guys but you guys were also ok with the price deference between the two cars, now the Camaro is back from the dead and it is cheaper than the GT500's and all I have read is the GT500 is not in the same price range as the SS so it can not be considered according to the GM die hards. All I'm saying is the SS is Chevys baddest and the GT500 is Ford's baddest, let the chips fall were they may. I have a Roush as you know and purposely not talked about it as they are considered by most as specialty Mustangs although Ford has a contract with Roush to sell, warranty etc as if they were factory Fords. 12.20's are what most are running with them but they are not a drag car, they are a 1.2 g weekend road racer so they are not set up for that unless you buy the Roush Drag Pak which is way to expensive for what you get two. Your comment about us trolling your site is off the mark as well as this post started with one of your own trolling the Mustang site, but I guess that is different and can not be considered the same as the GT500.

yea i added that link a bit late... 12.25 by the same guy in a stock gt500..see turtle... just because you didnt know they can run those times, doesnt mean they dont, so please do some research before you state something like "the fastest i have seen a cobra go is 12.9" because i definitely do mine

LOL, under those rules the GT 500 wins hands down as there is no time slips for the camaro's as they are still on GM's lots awating shipping.

ninja edit, I see lol

so, 12.25 out of a stock GT500... there's almost no way a 2010 Camaro SS will beat that timeslip... but the GT500 is about $5,000 more expensive (and I'm being generous here, assuming a $35,000 2SS against a slightly less than $42,000 MSRP GT500)... so lets add the simplest of mods to the Camaro SS... $1200 for Kooks headers (using LS1/LS6 prices as a comparison), $1000 for cam and install package and $2000 for new tires (I believe you could get better tires for less, but this is the approximate price of Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires... widely acknowledged as some of the best street tires you can buy for high performance cars)... so that's $4200 in mods that can all be done by the owner of the Camaro SS... figure 30hp for the headers, 50hp for the cam (and I believe that's an underestimate based on my cam only LS1 car gaining over 60rwhp with a big cam) and probably 3 tenths of a second because of upgraded tires... if the stock car does 13.0@111mph, lets speculate on a 506hp Camaro SS to compare, almost price point to price point, the GT500.

You're hanging with a different crowd, I think it's a great looking car, and know plenty of guys who feel the same. Unobtrusive exterior and a big honkin V8. The GTO is the PERFECT sleeper. Reminds me of the 1st gen COPO Camaro's.

It's so good people STILL don't know what it is after it blows their doors off...Just ask the average person (not a car nut) if they've seen a newer model GTO, they won't have the slightest idea what you're talking about and I love that.

Yep, the 2004-2006 GTO is the car version of "a face only a mother could love". This coming from an ex-owner of a 2006 GTO.

I did a search for prices back in the day and found these prices for the 2002 SS Camaro $31,780.00, 2002 Mustang GT Premium $24,390.00, did not look up the price of the Cobra as according to GM rules we can only compare the GT to the SS.
