Fancy valve covers would detract from funding to make the car go faster

Wife might get me some for XMas though... we'll see.

Thanks to Jason (lsxchevelle) and Derek (mayberryss) for the help.

Welp, it doesn't fit, but it hits the cowl, not the hood. Fairly certain after eyeballing it that it will clear the hood. At least the engine's in the car
Sawzall time

Little bit of this and that. Rough at this point, but ill smooth er out later.

Success mother@%^ers. Fits under the cowl plastic, AND under the hood. Barely.

Every little bit of weight reduction helps.

Good stopping point for today. Trying to put all the harness back where it belongs. Need to extend the MAP plug.

You're blazing freakin' trails with this install! Me and a 4th gen buddy were talking fuel hat installs and lamenting how it's unlikely that a 5th gen'er would be caught dead with a sawzall, but in this one thread you've shown there's at least ONE willing soul out there. I think I see a Holley hi-rise in my SS's future.

The holley WILL need a hood. It's 1.5 inches taller then this intake, and I have about 1/8" of clearance.

Thanks for the info! Looking to get another hood before next summer, so this shouldn't be a problem.

Only thing left up top is getting the oil dipstick in, and mounting the coils.

Transmission time.
