I took delivery of my Camaro with the front bracket sitting in the trunk. If I do get hassled by the heat I will simply ask him where should I mount it. I will put the front plate in a nice cushy frame and set it on the right side of the dash. I've rolled passed more than a few cops without a problem.

I realize that this thread is a bit old, but I wanted to chime in. Nebraska is a front plate state as well, but I told the dealership to leave the bracket in the trunk. Here in the city of Omaha, the police have better things to do than chase down folks without front plates. The staties and county-mounties, however, will stop you in a heartbeat. I got pinched many years ago in a triple-black Mustang for not having a plate. It was a fix-it ticket, no big deal. I have no plans to install my front plate unless I am forced to. I'll probably be pushing my luck, however, since ol' yeller is going in for 20% tint tomorrow, and the legal limit is 35%. LOL.

also in italy u need to have it in the front, i didnt wanna put it on the grill or anywhere it can block the air coming in the engine, so i bent a bit just the licence plate and i drilled 4 little holes and fixed the plate in the front under the grill

I bought mine used and fortunately from a non front plate state (KS). Bought the bracket & used some plastic ties to mount it per another post. Looked at for a few days, cut the ties and now the bracket and plate are on the back seat floor. Since it's not my DD I'm taking my chances that I won't get a ticket.

If I have to put it back on I'm going to try the eliminator type. Hopefully I won't have to worry about it.

No front plate might get you pulled over in Ca so the officer can write you a ticket for the illegal long tubes/tune/CAI/cam/cat delete/muffler delete.

Had to take off the plate I think it ruins the look, filled the 4 holes with bumper plugs and also I tinted my windows at 5% another thing you can't do In Nj... I really try not to drive like an 370h55v and I don't get bothered at all by the police

I feel like I've been cheated... my Camaro came with this humongous license plate frame already bolted on... So ridiculous. I didn't think anything of it at the time, I was just so excited to get my Camaro, but now I'm a little irritated. Maryland is one of those states that requires a front plate, but damn, let me decide whether to put the bracket on or not.... next time I'll pay more attention...

Haha, I'm about to be taking mine in for 20% as well. Here in MD the legal limit is either 50% or 35%, I get different answers everywhere I go. I currently have 35... but want something a little darker... just keeping my fingers crossed.

Sounds like you'll be in the same boat as me! I fear that our cars, as bright as they are, will appear as if the windows are spray-painted black. LOL

About a year ago there was a bank robbery in Fremont CA that lead 23 police cars from 4 cites on a 14 mile chase. Only to end at the base of a power-poll in the City Haward next to my condo. (No Camaros were hurt in the robbery. As a mater of fact no Camaros were involved in the chase.) But my point is that 1/3 of the cars in the chase were unmarked police cars. 300Cs, Chargers, Crown Vics (Victoria's) and one Sierra.

The one thing they all had in common was NO FRONT PLATE. When I think of our taxes going in to new police cars I think "OK no problem" the Police need cards to keep us safe.

But want to pass a law to force me to drill holes in the front of my 37K car when they don't. I say no way!

When I bought my LFX in October I told the dealer to not install the front plate. He told me that it was the law, I told him to let me worry about that. So the plate and the bracket sit in my trunk.

There is an online partition to change the law here in CA.
