Yeah it is, and thanks for being so patient with us, Richie. I know it's been a wait, but it'll be SO worth it when we get it on the car.

Nah, I don't think you're jumpy at all. I know how it is to want a part to get delivered.

Just wondering what the majority of people have done in regards to installing their ZL1 trunk spoiler. Are you guys removing the 2 inner bolts off the ZL1 spoiler or drilling 2 holes in the trunk instead. I took my RS to a body shop and they said that if they drill the 2 inner holes, they would have to drill holes underneath the trunk (shell) so that there's room to secure nuts.

Its not easy but you can insert the 2 new nuts from the old holes, that is how i did it.

Hmmm. I was messing around with the ZL1 spoiler and wanting to get a very close rendering of the same stripe theme as the Transformer Edition (2010 version) and figured out I could buy two non-spoiler trunklid transformer deck stripes to make one. I simply cut the ends off under the spoiler, and use the other one to lay on the spoiler up to the top edge. Or I COULD simply run them all the way over, but I'm thinking I may would have to alter/stretch them to go and look straight. Probably not a good idea, so I'm going to likely stay with the top of the spoiler route. Laying the stripe up against the top of the spoiler, it appears it will be PERFECT.

But we'll see. I still get to keep the original TF decklid when/if I want to go back to stock.

i found a blank VR trunk at an iowa junkyard online... itll be coming here on thursday.. Im only going to be drilling the 4 holes for the outer bolts (oem ss bolt locations) and then the hole for the brake light wires.

I cut mine off no issues if you do if what I found when I removed my stock spoiler was alot of paint chipped away on the desk lid I went to my local dealership with the GM TSB on the trunk lid spoiler paint chip issue. The dealership re-painted the desklid and they also filled in the 3 holes under the 3rd brake light too at no charge

This is a correct statement. However, I did drill the needed three holes, two for bolts and one for tailight wire. With all the airflow at higher speeds I did not want to temp fate that airflow could loosten the spoiler. The factory used six to attach for a reason. Part of that reason is how the bolts attach to the spoiler, not how they attach to the decklid. Six can only help and not hurt. My 2 cents. Also, I filled five holes before painting, three spoiler holes and two after removing the chevy bowtie as well.

I can share with you guys this little nugget of good news: when we make our Carbon Spoilers, we'll be adding the studs to different locations when the piece goes on an SS/LT vs. a ZL-1.

I really want to do this but am scared of what my trunklid looks like under the spoiler and I'm out of warranty so I don't think my dealer will repaint it :(

Will you be making a non-carbon version?
