I used to think that I could do that without a problem because I thought I love my '02 too much to let it go; however, after seeing how much better a car the 5th. Gen. is, it's hard to keep that perspective. The more I think about it, the more I realize how much I've toiled on that car to make it better and faster. I've spent a lot of time just trying to make the most of the power that the car has, but it's only been recently that that won't be enough for me. Shoot; if I wait almost ten years for this car to come along, with the prospect of 500 horsepower, I would've saved a lot of money on this car (not to mention blood, sweat, and tears) and put it toward this one. It's almost depressing to think of all the time I've spent just thinking about what to do to make the most of what that car had. The new car just seems to be leaps and bounds above this one and I can only hope I can afford to get the car I've always wanted.
Please GM!!!...

Great choice man! I believe the V6 will be the most balanced option in the 5th=-gen model range, and if they keep the 3.6 V6's 30o hp rating or slightly over then this car will surely give competitors a true run for the money.

Im am contemplating both a new Mustang when it comes out or the new BMW 135i.
I test drove the 135 today and it is FAST, handles like a dream, and was ultra luxurious, the one I drove stickered for 38k though...maybe a little steep, but I fell in love. |

I need a new winter vehicle, and at this point I an strongly considering a 03-06 silverado with the 5.3L Vortec. Put a magna charger on that baby and some bigger tires (because the stock ones just look rediculous) and that is probably it.

Who does #2 work for?
I am still interested in the Camaro just not obsessed. You see im a car guy and not just a Camaro cheerleader, and in the next year or two i will be ready to purchase a sports/luxory car of some sort (depending on the economy of course) and i do heavy amounts of research before i make expensive purchases. The Camaro has really had my attention for the past year and has been in my first place spot for a new car, but as we are seing more and more of what the production model will look like, its just loosing my desire. Not bashing it thats just my opinion.
Come September my mind could change but as for now im keeping my options open and looking at everything and the GT-R for some reason out of the blue one day has got me really excited. I know the two cars are on a differant level but im a consumer and no car companys are paying me to drive their car. So let me ask all of you, If the 5th gen Camaro never made it to production, what else would you be in the market for? |

I've owned at least one of each generation, they don't make cars like they used to, and that's mostly a good thing. I'll buy one just because it has the Camaro badge, if it has performance/handling issues the aftermarket will be fixing it. I'll wait till 2020 if I have to, not because I'm a cheerleader, but because I'm patient, and I like Camaro's.

1. Pontiac G8 (to me it's a 4-door Camaro and I buy American/GM whenever possible)
2. Infiniti G37 (I've loved this car for the past few years, it has a little kick to it but there's nothing like a V8) 3. Saturn SKy (Never driven it, but i saw an all black one yesterday w/ black rims and red pin-stripes around the wheel and fell in love, I propably wouldn't purchase it though as it's only a 2-seater) |

this is why i've been making those threads on the afterburner tail lights and making sure the production is as close to the concept as possible
a lot of casual car fans who aren't die hard camaro fans will be turned off if its too far off from the concept... and i hope you've seen the latest production pictures and not the ones with the fake headlights |
