Pulled the Apex Catch Can this morning after ~800 miles of it being in service (1350 miles over all). There was maybe 1/8 an ounce of oil in there! It's doing it's job well!

I wanted to check the car over closely today before I told this story, but now I can.

Took the turn onto a road that leads to my home road. Going around the bend I almost stopped cold!
ROAD RE-PAVING!!!!???

There was no sign, no notice that they were going to do this. I had no place to turn around.

The road was grooved and there was gravel all over it. I drove slowly, ~ 15 mph, which pissed the lady behind me off huge. I was trying to not fling rocks both for me and for her with the huge P-Zero tires. Some thanks I get.

It sounded like Jiffy-Pop going off under the car as I was pelted with thrown gravel. I was pissed!

I took the turn to my smooth street and the rock sounds died away. The lady behind me must have been treated to a full blast of rocks as she was hanging WAY BACK all of a sudden.

I get the car in the driveway and check her out very close.

Maybe 6 places were there were some knocks along the rocker guard area under the door that could have been bad chips. 1 spot on the right gill area that was a nice hit.

But, I have XPEL!!!! XPEL to the rescue! I also have the ZL-1 front rock/splash guards installed. I didn't see anything that was film piercing and there were very few marks on the gills.

I parked at wotk today in the sun to let the heat self heal the film. I drove home a different way (road will be done Monday) and checked Christine out in full sun.

All the spots I notated (yeah, I wrote them down ) were gone! Car looks fine.

So, take home message:
-Pay the $$ and get an Xpel package if you want to save the cars finish to any extent
-Get at least front rock/splash guards to deflect problems before they happen

Pretty satisfied right about now

I use our leaf blower to dry most of my car. It works really great on the grille, wheels and lug nuts, and on the roof. Basically all over the car, then I hit it with detail spray. No water spots to be seen!

Yikes! Shark fishing? Sounds scary to me..lol! Have some careful fun!

One of my best friends was telling me all about the AEM dry filters at his Birthday Party last Saturday. I looked into it and while there are no real hp gains to be had, I figured paired with the VMAX TB, maybe this thing will add a bit of sound or even MORE throttle response. It arrived today. I have tomorrow off and will put it in then. I will report anything cool about it (if you have stock air box, it's just a filter).

After that, not much left except to get my winter wheel/tires combo picked out and shipped. I am done with mods until next Spring, and then I have to make "the decision" to go big or stay stock. I go back and forth about ebery day to tell you the truth, and still undecided. No rush so plenty of time to mull it over. Also it's just about NFL SEASON!!!!!

Going shark fishing (mako, blue, porbeagle, threshers) on Saturday so if I don't sign in sometime Sunday you can assume the worst

The filter:
