I'd still bet $1 that the housing color is the only difference.

If you are saying that the housing is the same as what they refer to in the thread as light covers, then I agree with you. Do your lights use the same light covers so that the RS tail lights would appear to be tinted? If so, I think this is going to be my next mod. I was always into custom tail lights going all the way back to my '55 chevy.

A cover could do this and look good from a distance.

I was able to do a test fit this morning. I'll be whipping up one based on the non-RS housing for comparison (this is an RS housing).

Here's a shot of the non-RS housing. You can see the outer chromed outer edge. I think people will not want this look.
