Looking at the new Boss Mustang that will be more $$$ than my loaded 2SS/RS was, expecting a massive improvement in the GT 500 that is already @ $50k with any options, I can't see GM releasing the Z/28 any lower than the $50k price point.
The only way I can see that is if they strip out all the creature comforts like they did when the Z06 first came out. If they are going to market the Z/28 as a pure HP monster (ala Z06) then I think they are going to make those of us that are on the fence about trading "up" to the Z/28 pass. I'm anxious to see just which direction GM takes the Camaro. With the more strict guidlines coming from CAFE, I can see a twin turbo smaller V8 or even V6 sitting under that more pronounced cowl just as easily as a big beefy V8/blower combo. Either way, I think the production #'s will be limited to 10k or so just to keep the company fuel average up.

what good is it to have a surplus in product that isn't selling? you're losing money on that product every day it sits on your lot.

not practicle if you think about it. For one to make the cars even and because the camaro weighs more alone will mean the camaro will have to have 575ish hp to be even. blowing it out of the water is probably 600+hp, which i doubt.

The cts-v does quite well for weighting so much more then the shelby. So no matter what it will be a drivers race.

Weight to power ratios are useful, but fall far short of telling the whole story. Like what was just posted above, if that is all that mattered, the CTS-V would never have beaten the GT500 in a drag race... |
