for the love of god don't use that ebay spring compressor. its such a pain in the butt. almost bent a valve. so hard to keep the spring parallel to the valve. cant get the retainers in on the rear valves. crane cams tool all the way. the ebay one mounts on the top of the head putting it at an angle. crane tool keeps it all fairly parallel. saved me so much headache. otherwise GREAT writeup! thanks so much for your time and effort.

so i just accidentally installed the rocker on cylinder 2 and 3 while it was only at TDC firing position for 2. is that a big deal? im doing 1 now properly and then the rest in the order as the guide says. i dont think its a big deal really? itll just force the valve down a little when i tighten maybe??

I'm not an expert, but i don't think it is required. Worse case would be you under torque the rocker bolt, but you're going to turn over the engine a few times and re-torque anyway. i'm pretty certain i didn't follow the TDC for the rockers.

Heh...i actually over torqued some to 32 somehow. I wonder if when doing cylinder 8 and wrestling a massive tq wrench in the back i changed the setting. Or maybe im just blind. but yeah i ended up torquing 3 times...

well cam swap done. runs great!! didnt even have any air bubbles in the rad and no leaks i could see! Thanks so much!!
