There's no salt or ice on the roads in Illinois right now. Do it in may.

Chicago, AKA Joliet, IL
http://www.chicagolandspeedway.com/ During IRL weekends, IndyCar usually stages and interactive fan experience around the speedway and in downtown Chicago. April to October, the dragway allows street drag racing in its Test and Tune Wednesday nights. Demolition Derbys are often held in the race way (dirt track) complex Many of the bigger racing schools, including Richard Petty, Racing 101, and Dale Jarrod use the speedway for their training days

well , i was in michigan city a bout 10 days ago and i would def not drive my car around there without a serious bath that night...sorry, as for may, that might be a diff situation...if they were to consider that area of us it shoud be mid may and later...weather is actually nice and run conditions are beautiful...but personally i would not travel in my c5 any earlier than mid may..it will be interesting to see...honestly , i think they will reconsider valdosta...town is perfect for a c5 fest, friendly town , cops will accomodate you , which is a lot...track is perfect as they come, very lenient and enough room for everyone...weather is usually as good as it gets...for me its a 5 hr ride...i can drive farther. but sometimes the best motto is , if it ain,t broke don,t fix it..carlisle is great for a vette meet and been that way since day one.. they did not up and move it every year..bowling green is also known as one of the best hot rod meets...it also did not move every year,...maybe the mods should learn from experience of others and pick one place for the c5 to grow its roots...if its to far from you , then you may not come , but one day you will , because it will evolve to something you want to experience...if the mods nail down 1 annual date at one location, vendors members and others can plan it....hopefully the mods who set this next fest will stop moving it and make a home and annual date that can be planned a year in advance...it would be the smart thing to do..wherever it is..

New Orleans would ROCK!! But anything central would be cool too...maybe Kansas Motor Speedway? That is smack dab in the middle and shouldn't get too many complaints.

I don't agree with your assumption that it would be best to plop the fest at one specific location permanently, especially if you want people to bring their cars. Now, a regional rotation that goes back to the same venue, that may work, but there needs to be more than 2 places on that rotation, and I have a feeling that the 'powers that be' know this, and will work to get the best turnout possible, along with the best opportunity to keep it accessible to the widest number of participants. (no those are not the same thing) |

Memphis International Raceway
Memphis International Raceway would be an ideal spot for Camaro5fest! It's centrally located in the US and they are really trying hard to bring this raceway back up to Par. It will reopen after 2 years shutdown at the End of April. The raceway has everything you would want for Motorsports. Consider it highly, contact them quickly and get a good price on fees!!!
