P.S. When I get a lower one, I'll let's ya's know!

My grandpa put a wooden block under his gas pedal in his truck so anyone who drove it would only be able to get to 40mph. I'm not sure that helped with the gas mileage but my friend it appears you have a heavy foot.

2lt/rs m6 with 5000 miles
In two days I drove to Ky and back to TX and it was close to 2000 miles. That is what I call a long trip in a couple of days. Not sure but I think I got around 22.7mpg but I did open it up a couple of times in the middle of the night. Once at 110mph and on the way back it was wide open highway with no one on it so I stepped down on it and got it to 148mph but it's only a six cylinder so I'm thinking that is either pretty good because I sure don't plan on driving that fast or they have it limited to only going that fast.

On an SS mpg topic people were claiming to get 25 mpg highway and 18 mpg city. I find that hard to believe that a v8 would be similar to the v6.

V8's will burn a lot more fuel when idol than the V6 for sure and plus the Direct Injection on the V6 also helps the mileage on the V6!

My wife is the primary driver of our 2Lt. I check it every fill up. Her drive is 95% city. The best so far has been 21.3 or the worst has been 17.9. It drops a little from there when she's shopping and showing off for her friends. Only been on a highway trip once at 900 miles and we got 26 hwy. average speed 75 to 80. It just went over 2000 miles and the last fillup got 21.3 mpg.
I drove most of that one. don't tell her I'm a better driver

60 miles of highway driving at speed of 70mph yields 26.5 MPG using 87 octane. Have done this trip 20 times. Added Airaid CAI, no noticable change in MPG.

best

I have got better then EPA on my 2003 civic. If you want to get good mileage you need to pay attention to when you are putting your foot into it (even a little) and when you are sitting with the engine running not going anywhere. Cut down on those 2 things and your mileage will improve.

I think I'm around 22MPG and that's all in town. Get about 26 when I'm hauling ass on I-10.

I'm just starting to keep track now that the car is broken in, so I don't have specific numbers yet - but in previous cars, I've been able to exceed EPA by 10% just by going easy on accel and decel. Basically, the less you use the gas and brake pedals, the more energy you are conserving. I never realized any gains by using a K&N filter. Should have bought another tank of gas instead.

Will report back later once I've got my own data to share.
