I agree. I have the Doug Thorley, and they work well for my needs (ground clearance), but the leakage (collector design/gasket issues) and hardware issues (no included lockwashers, so bolts fell out) keep me from recommending them. I will probably purchase the Pfadts when they are available again.

Would appreciate it!!By the way, anybody know who else might sell Tri-Y headers since the Pfadt ones are pretty much impossible to get anymore?

How are these?

Is it me or is that shaft almost touching? When these headers get hot on a track I just have a hard time seeing how that clearance is OK? Hmmmmm..

There actually is space between the headers and shaft. The photo looks much closer than t actually is. It is tough to get a good photo angle

1/2" clearance by the 3rd and 4th tube (closest to firewall). Other two have plenty of room

With any of the 1 7/8 primary headers you will have plenty of clearance. 2 inch starts getting pretty tight.

I picked up some JBA 1 7/8 headers. Silver Ceramic coated. Plenty of clearance in the engine bay. I did drop the steering to install.

I did run into an issue with the header mounting up to the JBA cat. Had a small gap on top where the header & the cat met. Ended up having a local guy do some fab on the cat. I can't say it was the cheaper header I went with or the fact that the body shop moved my passenger side exhaust around a bit when doing some repairs after I was officially introduced into typical Northern Virginia drivers (rear-ended). I do really enjoy the sound I got with the JBA headers & JBA mufflers.
