Dyno Numbers

Not sure what you mean load bearing. My tires were removed and bolted to a machine. The camaro runs strong and feels good. How can I make sure the tuner did nothing wrong.

A load bearing dyno gives the calibrator the ability to hold the engine at one location while he refines the map of the surrounding area. Inertia only dynamometers freely accelerate as the engine makes more power. This makes it difficult to hold the engine steady at all the necessary map locations and build a detailed map. Load bearing dynos have the ability to hold the engine steadily in a much wider range or map locations in order to properly tune these areas. The more accurate these measurements can be at each point, the smoother the engine will run. So a dynamometer that can allow the tuner to make accurate measurements at each individual point on the map gives him the potential to make the engine run smoother in these areas as well.

Load Bearing Tunes

So after reading the details on diff. type of machines. Is it safe to assume the load bearing process is the best way to do it. Is that the reason my camaro got the numbers it did (380 HP/ 420 TQ).

Load bearing provides a more adequate estimate on WRHP vice an inertia only dyno. This may be a reason you are producing a considerable higher HP and TQ number than everyone else.

I would ask your tuner if he has a load-bearing dyno and if he has configured it properly.

I never got to post here. Here are mine.

Never got a chance to do an initial dyno, but here's my first one with headers and exhaust.

Here's the dyno after the Whipple and cam went in...stock pulley.

Dropped boost with the headers and cam, so we went to a smaller pulley to get back to 9 pounds.

Here's the dyno with a 75 shot of NOS. I'm actually running about a 115 shot now, so I'll have to post up another one soon.

This is the base run, as well as, the dyno run after all current mods were completed. I believe I had about 12k on the motor at the time of this dyno run. Breakin was normal driving for about 3500 mile, nothing above 3.5K RPM if I recall.

My rear wheels were removed and bolted to a machine. I think that was a load bearing dyno. I know it was a dynapack machine. Dont get me wrong I am happy with the numbers but they again they look high compared to others I a have seen. I just want to make sure the tuner is not putting my camaro in danger.

Here are our numbers, SAE Corrected. Engines mods are Cold Air Inductions CAI, ARH Long Tube Headers and SLP Loudmouth II Axle Back Exhaust. The initial pull was done with the CAI already installed so I don't have numbers for completely stock.

Below is link to video of Dyno run. Car is red not orange as it appears in video!

I don't have my print out on the computer. I had 3 pulls and the best one was 342 RWHP and 355 RWTQ. The only mods are Borla ATAK catback and the X5 Rotofab CAI.

I'll post my dyno sheet later but your runs are a mirror image of mine and I am running the mods in my sig.
