I think the ZL1 looks meaner. I will never buy a modern Dodge product. I do love the old stuff though(up to early 70's).

I am betting it will be a Ford and Dodge fight.
There might even be a joker in the deck. The oldest hypercar in GM's arsenal is the CTS-V. It is getting freshened up. Unlike what some folk claim about the Camaro, Cadillac is not limited to hand-me-down Corvette powertrains.

Will Cadillac try and regain it's Fastest 4-Door title? It will take power to do it.
Does Cadillac care what Ford and Dodge are doing? No. Heck, they don't care what Chevrolet is doing. They are hunting Germans.

I doubt they will try and thump that 707HP number. But the CTS-V had more HP than any other GM other than the ZR1 when it was released. So it's not like 650HP is going to be a line in the sand.

If the rumors about a twin turbo V8 driveline are correct, it is not unreasonable to think the top Caddy will get more than 650HP/650TQ. And it will be lighter than the Kittycat. perhaps AWD to boot.

All fantasy at this point. But a flying ATS-V is probably just the tip of the iceberg for Caddy.

Doubtful they will build 700HP CTSV. The next CTSV will only come in a 4 door no more coupes.

If they keep the CTS-V down to 4100lb and put 650HP/650TQ of turbo power in it, it will run right with the 4400lb 707HP/650TQ feline, if not surpass it. Area under the curve.

But that's not who they are hunting. M5/M6/AMG sedans. They have caught up. Cadillac needs to push ahead. 556HP is not enough to be superior.

Here is a past test from Motor Trend. This was the 6 speed manual. Obviously, the times are going to vary.

Didn't GM authority claim a 11.7 in a ZL1 article somewhere. Damn should have had NHRA there I mean owners have ran 11.7's hero runs or not. Right?

I think you've been reading too much on the internet. No claims of 11.7s from GM that I've seen.

I'm still amazed to see how much of a fight some people are putting up in admitting Dodge hit a home run with this car. They probably feel a little insecure about having bought a muscle car that one year later is out muscled.
Yes,..you can use those tires on the street. What SRT used was a street legal drag radial.

What GM used is the tire that comes with the car stock from the factory, anything else is a mod.

A home run? First Dodge is way late to the party, It took them three years to do something? And then they only got a single, it can go fast in a straight line. I mean realistically what else can it do? The ZL1 is up there with supercars on the track, it is a very smooth driving DD, and until Ford and Dodge played catch up it was the fastest in the 1/4 mile. It is also the first car to ace all of NHTSAs safety tests. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/14/2...-nhtsa-safety/ I would say that the ZL1 is the one who hit the homerun and no one has been able to match it. At this point the kitty kat is a one trick pony!

I'm a chevy guy first off , but I love it that the true muscle car wars are back in full swing!!!!I like it that the crown gets passed.(not that it did)..It makes for great competition, and brings more to the table every year......Look at the power available off the showroom floor! Bring it!!!The competition goes on. I'm sure Chevy has the answer. So many ways to go. Cut weight, new tech, power adders... Besides those who play serious with their ride will mod it anyway ,,,, so you never know what lurks under the hood of that ride next to you...That's where the true excitement is, If we all left them stock then it all becomes predictable and sorry but soon to be boring. I'm good with it all...keep it close keep it stirred and exciting.
King of the showroom will never hold a ton of weight no matter who it turns out to be with competition this close, not to mention track vs straight line vs likes, looks, and so on. Im just enjoying the times while we have them....
