I can't tell without looking at the part but the next Camaro that I do will have this part and I'll snap some pics.

One thing to note to you guys, since the TR6060 have such a small synchro teeth, they will continue to grind after few missed shifts. If any of you currently has grinding issue at low RPM shifts, I'm sure it was due to the teeth rounding off. Only fix? Replace the synchro and the coorespondng gear.
So, 2011 Camaro's should have the new parts? My Camaro doesn't grind, but it is extremely notchy and the notchyness/hard-to-shift has caused me to grind 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear...

If you have notchyness ive heard many people saying that they changed there transmission fluid with Royal Purple Syncromax and it helped it it a huge amount!!!....when i get my car that stuff is going in notchyness or not

I cannot tell you if the 2011 have the upgraded blockers in them without actually opening one up but GM must know something to note it on the parts catalog.

I had only 4,000 miles on my SS when I noticed it grinding from 1st to 2nd. Very quickly it became with every shift unless you let the RPMs die right down.

Yes I let er rip several times and have driven stick for decades. I did find it climbs to redline real fast so you have to shift fast and there were a few times I missed the shift which is NOT the norm for me. Seemed like it was rough getting into second and that slight hesitation was enough.

So I took it to my local GM dealer who took it for a drive around the lot and could easily tell the issue. The synchros were gone 1st to 2nd and 2nd gear was pretty toasted too. Ordered parts under warranty and was replaced. I havent opened her up and lit em up since them as the weather turned and she is parked for winter.

The mechanic owns one as well and said he has done two others recently all with the same problem. Apparently this Tremec is also in the Mustangs and they too have had similar issues. He couldnt understand why a tranny like this, could not support a good beating considered it was put into a car with 424hp to start with.

Dealer was great but I'm hoping this doesn't come back again as I do intend to lay a little rubber time to time (How can you not!)

I've had this and many other exciting issues to deal with, dealers keep that "operating as designed" comment right handy, even dealing with executive offices I still can't get the thing fixed due to that operating as designed comment, also has a crappy bearing noise after it warms up, but that also is normal, so they say.

I went to see my car today (it's been in the shop since Monday) and the transmission was still out of it. I spoke to the mechanic and he told me that the second gear was put in backwards. The GM instructions call for second gear to be put in with the lip/grove towards 1st gear and it should be in the opposite direction apparently? I guess GM is still working on the directions. They are waiting for some parts (5th &6th gear) that should be in my tomorrow. Oh ya, I was pulled over in my Malibu but the officer had mercy on me! I'm starting to like the Malibu

I am thinking part of that noise you are hearing may actually be coming from the input shaft of the transmission as it wobbles without proper shimming. I am going to suck out all the break in fluid and try the Royal Purple Gear lube and see if that quiets the trans down. Many claim the Royal Purple does the trick. It still wont fix a shim issue or the brass sintered synchro! It may buy some time from the gears eating themselves up though.

I wonder if any one that builds these cars can just go thru one and fix the inherent issues these cars have. Fix all the things GM couldnt get right for the masses. The posi, the synchros, The squeeling calipers etc.

Maybe thats something I should do when I get back to the states.

I think you are on to something there Ed! Take a dead stock SS and go through it with a fine tooth comb and see what comes out the other end. I bet it would be a dream ride because of all the goodness it already has.

That could be possible, the trans is quiet when cold but when it warms up and you release the clutch when in neutral it has a horrible noise that has only been getting worse with time, acts like a bad bearing, but who really knows seeing how nobody deems it a problem, so I guess I wait for a failure and go from there. Thanks for the input.

I just got back my car from it's second transmission build. This is what they told me:

The 1-2 Syncro sleeve was installed backwards per GM SI instructions. The Engineer told my mechanic that those instructions were incorrect. GM had them replace the 2nd gear and the syncro with blocker rings, shift ring except to install the rings opposite of the SI instructions. I was told that they have been coming from the factory backwards as well. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
