Blame Johann de Nysschen. Current head of Cadillac, formerly the head of Infiniti.

He's also behind the moving of Cadillac to New York. He did something similar with Infiniti, moving them to Hong Kong -which is why all of us now have such deep respect & admiration of Infiniti as a global luxury marque, rather than mere gussied up Honda's ...
