There is a great link where an independent research was done comparing the various brands. I will look for it (as I have time) & try to come back & add it in. I will put in a plug for CAI inc. I think is is the best looking for sure. It is a clear view, easy access closed box & cover edges come in machined metal or black or can be painted to match. It does not seal against the hood pad like some (leaving an impression on the hood pad). The box is insulated & the tube ceramic coated. It adds about 15 HP, a great sound & improves responsiveness. I read a lot on C5 before making my decision. Good luck deciding.

Found it. Here is the link to the C5 thread that links to the spread sheet:

Jeanette, I have an Airaid CAI. I only have it because a local member wanted a different CAI and sold me his Airaid for extra cheap. However, if I were buying new I would go with the Vararam. I think it gets a better flow of air from outside the engine compartment than any of the others. My second choice would be CAI inc.

Happy Lunch Time! Does anyone know if CAI voids a warranty?

My dealer sells CAI"S I'd guess the ONE they sell don't. I have all my MOD"S installed at the Dealer. Keeps them from saying well it wasn't installed correctly

If they can figure out a way to blame a repair on it, and avoid eating the bill;-yes.

I also have a CAI CAI (hows that for repetitive) and I love it. Really made a difference on my V6. They cost a bit more but they look and function great and are really easy to install.

No they will only void the warranty for the part it replaces. I have the factory one put away in case I ever need it but I doubt I will.

Got the Scuba Mask fitted today at the Medical Center. Man CPAP has gotten high tech. DR ordered a top of the line Supercharged Version with a Variablr Speed Cam and LED equipped ECU. Took it for a Test Drive and bought it right off the showroom floor. You can even customize it with skins like a laptop or cell phone

I'd say it depends on your dealer. Some will work with their customers and some won't. What is the offical party line? GM probably says that anything at all under the hood that they didn't sell and install is a no no.

Skin customizers? Seriously. What will they think of next?

We used to put a lift kit on the rear ends of our cars, not our feet!

If I made those shoes, the taillights would really light up! (And for what they cost; they should!)
