Ah, I see. I thought maybe there was a car show this weekend that I didn't know about...and the fact the track will be shut down to cars on Friday.

I'm not sure if you have or not, but you might want to take a look at their schedule for that weekend if you haven't already. If I remember right, they have events going on Friday and Saturday night.

Yeah they do. It might not be the best night to show up as a first time noob.

Are there any good, winding roads around Wichita to take the car out on? I have been looking at Google Maps and really haven't come across any except for your typical neighborhood/subdivision roads...which I refuse to "test" on.

In or just around Wichita?
I only know of Thunder road which we had to do our Drivers Ed back in highschool on.
Start on 47th Street south or 150th when you get into butler county.. and leads into the south end of Augusta

In or around, doesn't matter really. That looks like a decent stretch of road, might have to try it out. One of these days I am just going to head up to Cassoday and go north from the turnpike on 177. Been down that road before. Good scenery, and a nice winding road.

How does it work if you want to go autocross during the show? Can you get out of your spot and come back?

I believe you can, but not 100% sure.

Check out highway 99 up by alma Kansas. Best road in the state AFAIK. Used to run my bikes there quite a bit.

Im from the small town of Eudora,Ks. Its 6 miles east of lawrence, or about 30 miles west of the kc area.
