Thank you! Supposedly it's a clean break and should heal strong and fast. No more arm wrestling for me though. I did it, won some trophies, but I'm not ready for any more injuries like this.

Thank you! Fishing and cars are my true passions.

Got out of surgery on Tuesday. A big plate and 9 screws.

The nausea from waking up was the worst thing ever. Feels like the hardest hangover you've ever had. Took 1 narcotic pill (I hate them) and some ibuprophen. Today I feel like a million bucks. Pain is way down, but there is some nerve damage or some swelling pinching a nerve. I don't have the same amount of movement in the hand that I did before the surgery. Hopefully it comes back soon, and I can go fishing!

Yeah, I was going to make a joke like, man... You got Screwed. But wasn't sure if it was too soon.

Unbelievable what doctors can do today. A few decades ago they woulda just hacked it off.

Been back at the gym just to get some blood moving, and to get the joints moving. I have "secondary radial nerve palsy" right now. Basically there is enough swelling in my arm that it pinched the radial nerve that controls the extending of your hand and fingers. Very common for a humerus fracture ince the nerve is right there. The bone is healing fantastic, just need the radial nerve to come back to life, and I'll be good to go!

I have been weight lighting and playing hockey for almost twenty years now. Last year I had a grade 3 AC separation in my shoulder. My body hasn't been the same. I am about 190lbs and stand 5 feet 9 inches. My legs are huge from hockey and working out. My arms, and chest are good size and I am in good shape again. I got back to working out and could do twenty pull ups under grip and 17 military overgrip in a single sitting. I usually break it down and do about 100 pull ups on back days. I was back to benching over 225lbs just doing reps of 3 to 6. I mostly was doing dumbbell presses regular, decline, butteryfly, and incline. I had no pains from working out at the gym. I went back to ice last week, and I ave this sharp pain in my lower neck to both of my shoulders. It really hurts to get around. I took a week off from everything and properly stretched. I played hockey in a lower league just to fill in and the pain came back. My lower neck and upper back is killing me all the way to the back of my shoulder. Should I go see a doctor or just take a few weeks off from any type of athletic activities? I just don't know what to do. I think I need to take a few weeks off, and possibly give up hockey. The Ibprofen and ice just isn't working anymore.

Glad to hear you're healing up and everything is going well. Careful not to over stress, slow and easy does it, gotta give it time to heal up rock solid.

Definitely see your Doc. You may have pinched a nerve. And don't give up yet and start feeling down, see the doctor, get expert medical advise. Who knows, they may have to do more than an X-ray, possibly a MRI to figure it out.

Well this year is going to be different.. I'm going to blah blah blah. Well, I am going to guess that I will apparently be in everyone's way again, as I am every new year from Jan-April. And I will be mean and pissy about people in my way of my routine, taking up space, talking, or doing whatever they do that does not include actual training.

We kind of back it down from Thanksgiving to New Years as a recovery time. But in two weeks, we will start training hard for the April powerlifting meet. I have three people I will be training this year, should be fun watching their weights along with their excitement.
