Because bad PR is worse than any leaks that would be there. In the long run, the BB character is known (as are the other TF's) as indescructable beings that can take just about any kind of hit without damage. Seeing the (real) car like this can take away from that image. Especially for kids who see BB as the real deal. I'm sure if Bay had his way, he would take down every video of the accident, but it's out there now. At least they covered it befor too many frontal shots could be taken.

Bumblebee is just fine - he was in the motor city - had some quick reconstructive surgery - and came out just fine!

You'd be surprised at how well he survived that impact - and remember, he's Bumblebee - he helps to save the world - this is but a small setback.......
