Sooooo..... still waiting to see this Alpine kit hit the market. Wonder if it's going to be before I get back from Afghanistan? (Dec 2012)... Not counting on it.
Here is the my old 442. And my current Alpine to keep things on topic

Hey,
Im new to the forums but I do have recent , relavent information on said KTX-CMO Alpine unit. I've been bugging the dudes at AL and ads every since i got my 2SS, because the center media "thing" bugs me and I want to drop a nav in it. I was mislead the past couple weeks until was fed up today and went in, Coincidentally as i was talking to the "special" guys at al and eds, in walks the west coast alpine rep. I was already partially irritated with the situation when he came in, so I immediately grilled weather i should even still buy an alpine 910, we had a laugh and he showed me an email that it was currently begin sent through QA (quality assurance) and it should be shipping at the beginning of next week. According to the rep the original unit that scoshe is producing for them was set back because GM changed something about the AC interface not he 2012 Camaro. Anway it should also be noted that this KTX-CMO unit will be a "perfect fit" with a INA-W910 Unit, the rep confirmed that the next gen of Alpine units will not have the curve. You will still be able to put a diff unit in there it will just have a little bit of a recess at the bottom. Anyway, I feel like i've written far to much and I forgive the mass amount of typos. Also it should be noted that Scosche will not ship their units until the alpine units are out because it IS ALPINES DESIGN.
hope this helps and ill keep you guys up to date on weather or not i get mine this week.

Hey guys. Couple things regarding the Scosche v Alpine. I'm really torn on which to get. The price isn't really a breaking point, so I'm hoping to get some good feedback. I'm shallow, so I really like the Alpine screen, but I'm probably gonna put a JVC unit in there, so would it look lame to have a JVC on top of an Alpine? Also, can I still keep my RS gauges if I go with an Alpine or Scosche over a Metra? Every pic I've seen of an Alpine KTX-CMO shows the gauges removed. Is that because they wouldn't fit? I love the look of the Alpine, but if I can't keep my gauges, I will probably have to roll with Metra. Any thoughts?

...sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere. I looked through most of the threads to avoid "double-posting."

Yes you can keep the gauges. It fits. And the alpine kits are designed to flow with their double din's. So your JVC won't have the lower lip that the alpine units have. So IMO I would do the scosche. That's what I'm doing with my kenwood.

Thanks, Hamilton! Ugh. That sucks because I was really leaning towards Alpine, but if it's not gonna fit flush, I'm gonna take your advice with the Scosche. There also seems to be a lot of discussion over availability. Have you been able to get one yet?

No. They haven't released just yet, but hopefully they will sometime this month. Just an FYI if you didn't already know, Scosche makes the alpine kit for alpine. So its the same thing, just shaped slightly different.

I'm getting one of these double DIN panels. Not sure which one. Sigh ... maybe one day these Scosche/Alpine units will become real.
