I plan on doing a hike after, anyone got suggestions for good trails

Snakes will be most active from 8 PM all through the night until around 9 AM depending on how quickly the marine layer burns off. There might be good hiking around Palomar Mtn. You might also enjoy the Santa Rosa Plateau in Murrieta.
