I'm going to keep my junker or maybe buy a small truck to haul things (s10). Other than that, I will just be saving for a house.

Now, the GTR is a really nice car. The reason I wouldn't buy it is because it doesn't have a 6speed manual and I bet it's really expensive to maintain. Every time you launch, you'll be thinking about the stress put on the AWD system. I would rather have a RWD car that, if necessary, I can put in a viper spec 6speed, 1350 u-joints, aluminum ds and some heavy duty rearend stuff and launch all day with 1000+hp. That's long term of course but I like to know the easy potential is there.

I had thought about that same question when I first learned that the Camaro would cease production after the '02 model.

My plan, (which hasn't changed except to now add another Camaro) was to keep my SS.

If the Camaro had not returned from it's "hiatus", and I was to look for another car, my only choice would be a Corvette.

Buying a Ford is OUT OF THE QUESTION.

The Challenger is nice, but the only Mopar I really like are Jeeps.

And I've always been and will always remain faithful to Chevrolet.

You cannot honestly tell me the pre-production shots look different enough from the concept to disappoint you.

Every car looks different, usually significantly so, from the concept version. The Camaro is remarkable in that it has maintained so much of its appearance thus far. Look at the other cars on the market and try telling me with a straight face that there is a more appealing car in the modern-retro style. You can't do it without lying.

If you want a luxury car with all the trimmings, that's your maintenance mess, but while your BMW 3-series is in the shop like everyone else's, I'll be smoking the tires on my Camaro, even if it has to be a V6 (looking more realistic all the time).

To answer your question, if I had to pick a number 2, my primary backup is the G8. If I can't afford that, I have other options, including the Solstice GXP and the Cobalt SS.

Honestly? Mustang GT and mod it to kingdome come. OR simply a nice Vette, but it's a bit out of my range.

They do look different enough to me, they may be nit picky things but whatever.

And yes you are right it has maintained much of its concept look.

No there isnt a better looking Modern Retro Muscle car out there. Im not looking for a Modern Retro car, im looking for a fun fast car.

0% unemplyment would be full employment.

Starbucks is closing 600 stores, Automotive plants are begining to shut down left and right and GM is on the brink of bankruptcy, and this is news ive read only this past week.

What if GM does go bankrupt? Will they still release the Camaro in 09? Thats why i say, whats your back up plan?
there was a .5 percent jump in unemployment becaue congress just raised the minimum wage by 2 dollars....and guess what happens in the summer a lot of teenagers look for work and enter the work force who are now being rejected because its riskier to higher a teen at near 9 dollars an hour...because the job losses that occured in the month did not equal .5 percent of the workforce which is created by all the new teens joining the workforce...

and 5.5 is a great number that is one of the lowest in history

unfortunately thats what happens in the market places have to downgrade or close stores when they don't adapt to market forces...one of them being extreme high gas pricess caused by wacko environmentalist who are messing up the supply of oil by not letting us drill...

gm will not go bankrupt...stock prices and how much money you have available are two different things the stock price is down even though gm sold more than everybody else in america but its because the analysts don't see that gm is doing enough to counteract the new gas issues...that will change once they change their business plan...

1. 2012 Anniversary Edition Camaro 'vert

2. 2010 Pontiac G8 GXP

3. 2010 Challenger RT in Stone White or SRT8 in that black metallic color

4. 2008-2009 C6 Z06

5. 2004-2006 Aston DB9

6. 2009 ZR1 (yeah, right, that's gonna happen... HAHA)

Somethings wrong with this picture. Isn't the bumper on the DB9 just as expensive as the rest of those cars? I mean just jecking Dupont Registry, but that car is like 150k used. I think you can afford ZR1 if you wanna get a DB9 and blow the doors of one while paying the owner of it the extra 60 g's or so to wear a sundress and play show tunes while driving it. Or you can take the extra 60 Ger and get a Camaro AND a Challenger AND a GXP if you get a deal on the ZR1.

Then how do you put a Challenger #3, and Z06 number 4?
Kinda makes you wonder?

I'm sure you can get 4 out of the 5 cars for the price of a DB9.

Plus, a "fad" like overpriced beverages (that don't get you drunk) can only last so long. They'll all be crying "doom and gloom" one day and cite all the energy drinks that went out of business.

The Camaro has really had my attention for the past year and has been in my first place spot for a new car, but as we are seing more and more of what the production model will look like, its just loosing my desire. Not bashing it thats just my opinion.

Come September my mind could change but as for now im keeping my options open and looking at everything and the GT-R for some reason out of the blue one day has got me really excited. I know the two cars are on a differant level but im a consumer and no car companys are paying me to drive their car.

So let me ask all of you, If the 5th gen Camaro never made it to production, what else would you be in the market for?
I merged this with another thread from a few months ago.
