I would try out the short throw than already in it before you mod it out. It is AMAZINGLY smooth and precise IMO. I've always driven B&M short shifters. And this 1LE (zl1) shifter outperforms

In also in the 70001. Mine doesn't have the hood wrap. I am just excited to know there is another 1LE in the neighborhood!!
