Please please let this die lol

08 at this point you're just pointing out the obvious. It should be no surprise G cars run mid 13s and stock V6 camaros run 14s with similar power levels when we have less aggressive gearing and almost 400-500 pounds more weight.

I am a poor slow representation, you are right. I have original spark plugs and 115k miles... I have $90 primewell Chinese tires... and it was my first time to the track in that car in 500+ DA at a notoriously slow track(that 3 members of this very forum have attested too).

See a poor representation, you mean, would be a nearly new broken in g35 on $300 Nitto 555r's with a professional driver at the wheel in -2000 DA at Atco raceway. Just imagine what this car would run if it were in those circumstances.

I am not driving 500 miles to race someone either.

It is how it left the dealership, down to the oem spark plugs with 115k miles on them!

Stock G35 VQ35HR's trap 101-103, G37's trap 105-106 by the way.

If you think 13.6 in a stock G35 sedan in fast, then you must be mind ****ed when you see a stock G37 sedan run this. To be honest I was hoping for 13.4-13.5 if I could have gotten my 60 foot down.... I know what these car runs and 13.6 isn't that shocking to me.

If I had his 1.9 60 foot I would have ran a 13.2-13.4^
I say this because rule of thumb is lose .1 tenth in 60 foot, that's .2 tenths on the big end.

I don't see how a 3600 lb car with 328 HP and 269 TQ is running almost a 13 flat, bone stock. Hero run? April Fool's joke? Whatever the case, it's a 40K car. You can't compare that to a V6 Camaro.

No this is a base $35k G37, (you can go to your dealer and get one for thousands of $$$ less though with all the incentives going on). It cost more because it has more standard equipment and components(i.e. suspension, aluminum body parts, etc.) and it's a luxury car.

I don't see how a 300 whp 3600 lb car that traps 106 and has 1.9 60 foot is that amazing for 13.0 second run (on the face of it, it does... till you look at it closely), it has aggressively geared 7-speed auto that I have kept mentioning. The quick shifting 7-speed trans is the reason for the low ET's.

Its possible but it is a hero run, they are really mid 13 second cars.

I ran a 14.1 (corrected) in my bone stock V6 manual with the 20 inch boat anchors, and I'll be the first to tell you that I'm an average at best driver at the strip.

A V6 manual with an above average driver and a perfect launch WILL do a 13.9, its just super difficult. Subtract a few hundred pounds, and add in 3.6-3.7 gears, switch to a rim diameter equal to the g and it will run g times.

I did just that on my V6 and went from trapping 96-97 to 101.5. Problem is my 60' was up in the 2.3-2.2 range so I didn't get my 13.xx time slip.

Give the V6 a little more time and we'll put up numbers.

No, I am saying the SS was the poor representative. You said you ran the second fastest time for your class G35.

Looks like there's a time slip for that video on DragTimes:

http://www.dragtimes.com/Infiniti--G37-Drag-Racing.html

DA was -149 ft.

Everyone slower than this is running mid to high 13s, which I think is a more realistic expectation for this car. Any way you look at it, it's still a lot more cash than the V6 Camaro.

If you go to myg37 you will find different results. I ought to post up my times too!

P.S. motortrend got 13.5 @ 106 mph for g37 auto, road and track got 13.6 @ 105.6 mph.

Edit: let this thread die lol

Hmmm..I agree on the mid to high 13's for the g too. And can there just be some factory freaks out there....yes. I think every line of vehicles have one vehicle out of the bunch that just run totally different from the others....wether they perform better than the rest or vice versa....
