This thread is full of win, I'm all about getting a discount on a 5th Gen. Didn't sign up for this thread (was looking at getting one but at 6'8'' its a no go) but thought I'd post in here in hopes of scooping up a Camaro from either of you. As far as the second part, join the club...LMFAO. Forget Camaro's and "V8 Cavaliers", we should all go green and buy prius', from 0-6 they are monsters. |

Fun just like all the other comparison threads vs cars that have not touched the camaros stock time.
When an 05-06 GTO posts a 12.61 @ 111 bone stock with a video I ill listen. When a mustang GT posts a 12.61 @ 111 bone stock with a video I will listen. When a 4th gen posts a 12.61 @ 111 bone stock with a video I will listen. How can any of these people expect owners of fifth gens to accept and or listen to this crap without putting up a fight when the facts speak for themselves? If the shoe was on the other foot it would be the same way. My friend beat one...I did this....they are slower because of this reason...I calculated this and found that....here is some random video of a 5th gen losing.....what the hell ever I am sick of this garbage. The camaro has the fastest stock time for now.....how can this be argued? end of story. |

Thats great... and LS3 C6 coupes run 11's bone stock.
You are talking about a more powerful car 4 model years newer then the last GTO. Sure in a lab environment the Camaro is technically faster, but bone stock against an LS2 GTO the better driver is going to win, the original post asked which would win in a heads up race... the answer is not clear. |

I personally don't care what the answer is (I say thing because I know there will be someone who will say I'm biased, which I've yet to say anything in this thread one way of the other), just saying the only way to 'prove' one way or the other definitively this is how it would need to be done. If people insist on the cars being driven to find the answer, you could never race them side by side. You would need the same driver to put them through the same rigmarole and then one could attempt to argue the point from there. You can still put them 'head to head' by going to such lengths. |

Im kinda glad I started this thread, I actually love both cars, and have driven both. It was purely a rhetorical question.

My '05 GTO ran high 12.60s with tires only, HP to weight the Camaro should be faster.

Doesn't really matter what it's called or what you prefer as it is definitive. Otherwise you get useless crap which has filled this thread with the posts about modifications, 'better' drivers, etc. which ends up as
![]() However, if anyone is going to say that 'bench racing' doesn't count, or isn't the real answer (or isn't what you prefer) then this thread should never have been looked at by them in the first place as that is the ONLY way to come to a definitive conclusion. Everything else boils down to someone saying "... well depends on ..." and it all becomes worthless chatter. That isn't mean to come across as a bash, or me being an ass, just simply stating that there is no real end to this as there are too many 'what if' scenarios. Just like my granny and the prostock example. If the prostock driver slams into a wall and never makes it past the 1/4, the granny is now the 'better' driver and 'faster' simply because he failed to cross? |
