Hi Becky--
Here is my latest update on the dilemma I am having with order NVJCX6.

Yesterday I canceled the order. This order was submitted Feb. 26, 2010. As of yesterday it was still at 1100. After numerous discussions with my salesman, I decided to go right to the dealership General Manager. As you would have guessed, it came down to allocations. He seemed as frustrated as I was. He stated that they had plenty of allocations. But for some reason Chevrolet was not giving them any for Camaro models. He actually pulled his allocation spreadsheets out and showed them to me. They were given ONE Camaro allocation since the beginning of the year--and that was for a stock unit ordered last fall. He told me he had on going discussions with the regional rep concerning this, and that they hoped to remedy the situation. After a meeting with the rep early last week, he was told there should be some movement within the next few days. As of yesterday, there was no movement--still 1100.

My patience has run out! This was supposed to be an exciting experience for me. But it turned out to be a stressfully bad experience.

The good news is...I was fortunate enough, after much dealer inventory searching, to find the exact unit I ordered, except for polished aluminum wheels (of which I am negotiating with a fellow site member for) at a dealer a little over a hundred miles away. We were able to work out a dealer trade. They are in the process of getting the car today. I may even have it tonight!

I am really not blaming the dealer for this 'fiasco' as much as I am blaming Chevrolet. Sounds like they need to hire more people. I sent their Customer Service department an e-mail stating my frustration with this order and why I canceled it. By the way, my saleman is probably going to lose another order that was submitted a few days after mine. He's not very optimistic about ever seeing that car built.

I can appreciate your frustrations. It's a fairly common theme here. The good news is you will have a car soon. Make sure you post pics of the new baby. Congrats.
