Maggie, want to come finish up my chores tomorrow while you're playing hooky? I can't get 'em done tonight, Austin has a band concert in half an hour. Nothing major, just some laundry to fold... the housekeepers come on Friday, so no cleaning necessary. (the housekeepers are the ones that keep me and my hubby from killing each other over who does what...)

I still can't forget getting off the Plane in Seattle Washington and having to go into the Men's room to take off my uniform and hide it in my suitcase. I know I sound bitter I work everyday to let this go. I'm so glad the troops come home today to a Friendly home coming. Maybe we as a Nation did listen! Time will tell. Peace and GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Apple PIE and Chevrolet
I was in the blissfuly partialy ignorant age group during Vietnam. Old enough to remember it on the news, learning about it in school, hearing adults talk about it, knowing some fathers/husbands of those around me who served and living close enough to Ft Campbell to hear a lot about the large numbers of deaths and probably aware of some of the controversy. Being as close as I was to Ft Campbell there was probably more respect paid to military around me than in most places. I remember sending cookies and care packages to the soldiers that we packed in shoe boxes at school. I am glad I was not old enough to have been in a position of having regrets about having chosen to disrespect any returning soldiers. I hate it that anyone did and still feel the need to appologize for their ignorance & hurtful actions. I am sorry so many returning military personnel were subjected to such disrespect rather than the thanks they so highly deserved. My Brother-in-law spent 13 years in the region and my father-in law was Green Beret in Vietnam and retired as Command Sgt Major at Ft Campbell. Both of them still suffer with PTSD but never complain. So, Great Big Thank You to all our Veterans, especially those who served in Vietnam and huge "I'm Sorry" to any Veteran who returned home from service to any disrespect or anything less that the much deserved Hero's Welcome. :flag2:
Thank You skipinminn.

I just got home from a Cub Scout Pack meeting. We did the 'Raingutter Regatta'. A lot of work. A lot of fun. I'm beat!

The Interstellar Overdrive is in but the integrated cloaking device is still riddled with software bugs - HRS is far from stealth so I'll have to rely on conventional radar detection....I suggest that everyone else do the same. And be safe out there!

What's a Raingutter Regatta?
The boys make little sailboats - similar to making a pinewood derby car. They race them in raingutters that are filled with water and placed on a table so they can blow on the sails of their boats. Do a search for raingutter regatta on YouTube. There are lots of videos there.

I thought you had your cloaking device working super good. Those software bugs can be a real nuisance.

That's right! We'll have to get you an anti-Oregon-Hiway-Patrol device.....
