Not an instructor. He runs in the solo group. That means he is signed off to run without an instructor. He's been using a coach lately trying to squeeze out a few more tenths. He really wants to get less than 2:10 for a long course lap. He's one of the group I hang out with at the track. We have the only two Camaros that are normally out there.

I'm not going to argue this but a pretty good benchmark to shoot for is 2 minutes. The Z/28R's are restricted in horsepower but lighter with slicks and a professional driver. Horsepower doesn't make you any faster in the corners. Jim's running a heavy car with Pirelli Trofeo R's smaller than the ones on my Z/28. Just as another reference point the GTLM Corvettes were turning 1:45 laps when I was timing them in 2014. I know I'd be mighty happy to be able to consistently crank out 2:10 laps on the long course at WGI. I know it's possible with a stock Z/28. There's video on Youtube of a stock Z/28 turning a 2:08 lap with a pro driving and he said he was only driving about 8/10ths.

Only had it for a couple of days but liking it! Payed off Camaro about 3 weeks ago. saw it and had to get it.
