Yeah. Haha Even though I'm pretty happy with my CAI Inc. intake, I'm still quasi interested in how this thing does and whether or not my current CAI will be pimped to one of my brothers. I'm also interested to see how these guys resolve their fitment issues.

Watching and waiting... As one of the original group buy guys, I opted out for the bugs to be really worked out. A $50 saving was not worth the potential headaches.

Don't Sleep on My V6
|
Well got mine all bolted in. And I also had issues with the TB fit. But got it on there good. I just lifted up the whole intake manifold and TB and got it to go! Just waiting for the Dye to dry on my filter. Jet lag and all I woke up 2 hours later (1am) and got it all done with alot of other add on's I had waiting. Pictures coming when filter is dry. Then to the Shop to have my MRT V1 installed!!!!

Sounds to me like the last production run may have been out of spec for some reason?
If this is the case my guess is that Vararam will send out return labels for people having issues and replace them. Pretty sure Steve gets back next week and he's probably not able to monitor the forum at the moment. |

Don't Sleep on My V6
|
Here are my install pic.'s! The 2nd and 3rd pic.'s is how it looked before I lifted (aka muscled) the TB/Manifold to get the right fit. Last is of the dyed intake. Haven't driven it yet but had let it run for 30min.! And wow just the high idle and stock exhaust sound was awesome. Bout to drive it finally to get my MRT V1 installed and get those 30-40 miles dialed in. My full report later and some video's later tonight!

V8 has product quality problems, now it's the V6.
I beleive that VR has a nice set-up, but it could fail because of product quality. As for myself I've decided months ago to wait for the initial feedbacks, now I have them and I still will wait. I beleived that it's not normal that someone has to trim or do some cutting of some parts of the product or on the car to get things thight. VR has to settle those issues fast or I'm affraid that they'll miss their target...

Much better
Although the VR tube was dead on the TB, the front of the intake was sitting a little high on the radiator causing the opening to shrink a bit.
I tilted the radiator just a bit forward without it pushing on the Wing, just touching. Opening looks good now.

I'm sure Vararam will resolve this quickly, without having anyone needing to modify the product or their cars to fit. My guess is they'll recall those having issues, go over them with a fine tooth comb, fix them and send them back. They have a satisfaction guarantee so I am confident they'll resolve this to everyone's satisfaction - hearing the reviews of people who have been driving with it is exciting. |

Hey guys we see what you are running to.
A quick adjustment for this is to tighten the core support bolts down more. This will allow for another 1/4 inch. The spacers are there and are soft for this reason, they are for more adjustment. (also , make sure you are not getting hung up on the small water line hose under the unit) We will add this to the directions, as it seems this is a common point. If you are stuck at any point just call our tech he is standing by 713 899 6456 VR Tech |

Thanks for chiming in Rolnso (and everybody else)!
The "tail" is roughly 3/4", or about 19mm, all around. It doesn't look longer than the others I've seen posted here but it would be hard to see a mm or two difference just from pictures. @Can't_C_Me: There is a tiny bit of play on the engine for me too, but it goes back to its position when I stop lifting, I can't stay in my engine compartment the whole time . Also, it's hard to tell, but from the picture you posted after you corrected the position, it still looks like the 2 are not perfectly aligned (the intake seems higher than the TB). The red hose also doesn't seem flush against the start of the "tail" on the intake.@67 GTO: In your pictures, you seem to be able to line them pretty good, but once the red hose is on, it is not flush against the back of the rim of the TB. Like I said, I'm confused because both the instructions and the videos mention that it is very important for those parts to perfectly flush, at the risk of losing a consequent number of horses... ![]() Cheers!
