How much of an advantage can you expect a car to have by 60 mph? Especially when they are tricky to launch with 20 inch rims, low profile tires and 430 horsepower? I Also seen allentown talking about the 0-30 times in another thread...LOL are you kidding me?

Sounds like someone is trying to help themselves get to sleep at night.

Um this is quite wrong. There are a couple of people who have broken into the 12's with the 2010. Just as on this site you have posted times, on Stang sites there are posted times, with timeslips as well. I think the fastest 2010 was a 12.7 or 12.8 as well.

The driver removed the spare, and I think the front sway bar ? To get some weight of the car. Others have gone low 13's quite often. So lets keep the facts correct. In your own timeslip thread there are not a ton of sub 13 times there.

well im sure he meant a stock 2010 mustang, not one with parts removed to cut weight. Also if you want the magazine numbers for handling, your going to need the track pack because it seems they equip all their gt's with them for testing against challangers and camaros. I wish some mags would throw a pedderized camaro vs a track pack mustang so we could see how they match up.

Once again thats not stock, anything removed or added isn't stock get it. Now try again instead of trying screw stock into what you believe makes your case. Fact still remains ain't no stock 2010 GT hitting 12's.

You just said he removed the spare and the sway bar so its not stock.... and from the sounds of it your not even sure. The car was probably tuned also. OR maybe had god driving it.
And hell even if he did do it that just means with the same situation the camaro would have gone even quicker. Means nothing.

Most tests in the same magazine in the same day have the mustang at around a half second behind the camaro. So you will be roughly 80 feet behind a camaro in the quarter when you cross that line all things being equal. (do the math...at 100 mph you travel 147 feet in 1 second) Why are people still arguing this?

1. Edmunds- Camaro 13.0 @ 110.9 / Mustang 13.5 @ 102.9. ( for god sakes a half second and 8 mph in the trap difference!) Same test same day same drivers.

2. Motor Trend- Camaro 13.0 at 111 / Mustang 13.5 at 104.2. Damn only a 7mph trap difference this time. Really getting close now. Same test same day same drivers

blah blah blah....if you mustang guys even had one review of the mustang beating the camaro in the 1/4 by even a nut hair it would be the holy grail of reviews.

FACT- The 2010 mustang GT is on average 5 car lengths behind the 2010 Camaro SS at the end of the 1320 all things being equal (not my definition of a battle by any means). Learn to love it.

LOL say one thing, and here comes the defense team ! This quote is what was said. Notice it does not say STOCK anywhere. But I did understand his gist. The simple fact that someone took off a front sway bar, and removed the spare tire...wow I guess that's the cheapest mod you could ever do ! Hell that's like a super mod ! The car did not have tune either, just 1 part removed, and a spare tire. Wow..hmm...I never knew the spare tire area was a power adder in disguise..

There are 4 guys who ran sub 13...That's great. They ran it on a fast track, in optimal conditions, and yeah it was great it could be done. But wow, I never would have thought you guys would hang your hats on just 4 people doing it, or thump your chest on it.

In case you miss it, I have said, the 2010 Camaro > 2010 Mustang. But I still say a great driver in a Mustang will beat a average one in a camaro. The performance difference is not that far apart. And as for the track pack argument, that is a OPTION you get with Ford. You can have it when you buy the car. Peddlers is not a GM option...not one I seen on the website anyway...are they not a 3rd party aftermarket option?

What part about all things being equal don't you get. Everything you say is for a way to get the mustang an extra advantage. Well I see why its because the GT needs that extra advantage to even compete. STOCK for STOCK all things equal the GT doesn't hang it's not a drivers race, and thats a fact. Quit putting the but here and but there because you are reaching when you do that. I would love to eat up that little GT of yours with my GOAT(GTO) to show you how little your modded GT can really do.

Note: My GTO is running 750 hp at the crank, want to come to Michigan

I would love too in a year or two when I'm living back there. However you will have too give me a couple of practice run's since I have never drag raced at a drag strip before. Oh and we do it on street tire's.

Sure. My GT is a daily driver. I can easily pull my 65 out for the fun runs.

Also after doing a bit more research since we are on the subject, I'll go on and post up the S197 Ofiicial list of 1/4 times. Note in that list that 2 people STOCK everything went sub 13. Two others with DR's on went sub 13 as well. I guess that just blows that little factiod right on out of the water now does it not ?

http://s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5218

For those who does not want to weed thru it,

EdyUly 12.8 @ 109
69Mach 12.9 @ 106
STOCK

Edit: BTW, either of these people are the ones I was reffering to that removed the sway bar. Gimmie a sec, and I will find his thread.
