1. I made it to Draper before I had to get coffee (pathetic)
2. My speedometer broke at point of the mountain. It read that I was going 130 mph.
3. At Santaquin a Highway Patrol car got on. I paced with him & set the cruise control to have an idea of speed. Then I had to use RPM as a measure.
4. Holy freaking rain! It was coming down in sheets. At this point I was only going 110 according to the malfunction.
5. Then snow
6. Then wind. Like blow your car around kind. I guess they closed the Vegas airport 50 mph winds.
7. Then tumble weeds
8. More rain...
9. Dodged a lawn chair in the road
10. Dodged another large object that was yellow, white & brown with buttons. No idea what it was, other than a large stuffed animal.
11. More wind & dust & debris.

I was waiting for locusts next!
I used to live in Vegas. Had to drive home from school on my motorcycle in 60mph winds more than once. Sand hurts at 60mph. I saw the wind there take a billboard that was supported by huge steel I-beams and twist it like a pretzel.

My sheriff friend has a Passport that he says has never failed him. He likes it better than his friend's Valentines. They other method he uses is making his wife look through binoculars.

That's the extent of my reasearch....

I had this one given to me as a present. It is a little on the spendy side but does a good job so far and has saved my bacon a couple of times. I had been talking about buying one and was going to get the 9500. But not to hurt anyone’s feelings I am using this one now since it was a present.

A few things

1) Radar detectors are a waste of money. They're all worthless against laser, and most agencies in Utah that still use radar use a triggered radar. Your detector may or may not save you. I had one before I became a cop. I gave it away after going through our training.

2) Gemini: whoever said every officer will be pulling over anyone who is speeding and be giving no breaks is full of s*#! Every officer has discretion on who to stop and who to cite. Why anyone would try and say otherwise is beyond me.

3) No car for me today. Rail car has been at industry for over a day, but it's still waiting to be unloaded :( My guess is I'll have to wait till Monday

Since speeding tickets are "strict liability," time might be better spent coming up with "involuntary" excuses for speeding. Like the Toyota "My gas pedal got stuck... Factory defect."

It's not the weekend for me, it's my weekdays. Back to work at 2200 tonight....only good news is I'll likely pick up the car at the start of my weekend.

Just drove past Larry Miller's lot....lots of Camaro's sitting there, but only one SS.....5 LT's and an LS.

Just got a call from Lance

He's tried twice today to get the car released, but they said it's such a large train that was dropped off they won't be able to get it out till Monday.

So, Monday it is most likely

Sorry to hear that Rogue, but if you do get it Monday and it is the start of your weekend, then that is even better. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
