I would be happy if the just called it supercharged and like it lookes like it say on some of the mules on the fender....save the Z/28 moniker for the smaller engine lighter, road course car that competes with the BOSS 302..why can there be as many levels as the mustang has, (they have Cobra, GT500, Boss 302, GT, etc) just Chevy upping the anty on their part and being better than Fords "signature" cars

I think the HP model is just a code name for now, no real reason to start a whole new model of the camaro when there is the z28 still available.

I have been waiting but if it is above 46,000.00 way to much money, I'll settle for a 2SS and supercharge it myself and be ahead of the game........................

Burying the Z-28 name makes no sense. I can see only one reason why the 2012 model would go into production and be called the HP versus the Z-28. GM is going to pull a Challenger gig. Remember how the first year was all SRTs? Maybe the Gen6 Camaro will be introduced a year early as the Z-28 model only. They could produce 2014 Z-28s on the Gen6 and the rest of the 2014 lineup on the Gen5s.

If not Z/28, then what.
RS. In use SS. In use IROC. GM doesn't own it. Panther. The Camaro's pre-production name. Not likely. Z/29. God I hope not. Don't get me wrong, I will have the top model "alpha platformed" Camaro, no matter what its name is. I'm just trying to figure out what else it could be named.

OK Fbodfather/Scotty has me thinking that the new HPE Camaro will NOT be named Z28 afterall. I think that this would be a mistake but GM has never listened to me in the past and I do not think that they will listen to me now. From all of the spy photos and leaked information that has been posted on this car, it will be a totally awesome car that could easily live up to the name Z28 and what it represents. I mean really: 556+HP S/C engine. 6 piston Brembo brakes with massive rotors, lowered suspension with Magnetic Ride, 285/330 tires, HUD, Hurst short throw shifter, beefed up IRS, louder tuned exhaust and award winning good looks!! It sounds like a Z28 to me.
That being said, whatever Chevy decides to call the HPE Camaro will be fine with me. I have my preference for Z28 because I always wanted one but a different name will not change my desire to own this car. My deposit has been with my dealer for many months now anticipating this car whatever it is going to be called. Chevy is building this car with all of the good things I would build it with if I could just pull the items off of the shelf and put them on the assembly line. The car will be beautiful as much as it will be brutal and a pure delight to drive, no matter what its name will be. Thank you Team Camaro for doing a wonderful job, I know the car will be great.

Just SC Camaro. Possible. But that would be more likely if they just dropped a blower on top of the stock engine. This car is much more. Different engine, SC, mr, etc...
IMHO, GM has spent too much money on R/D to not give it it's own name.

If your going to pay $55,000.00 then go buy a Vet. There won't be many sold at the price. Take the difference of $37,000.00 and $55 and put it into a 2SS/RS and you'd blow the paint off any Z or Vet.
