If you don't already know what you are passionate about then perhaps military service might be the place for you to start. My dad was in the Air Force for 30 years and retired at 50. We lived well and traveled the world.
Not unusual to make two or three career changes during your life. My brother was an automotive designer, then opened an advertising buisiness, then a stock broker, then worked at Microsoft. He retired at 50. I was a commercial interior designer specializing in resorts and casinos and traveled the world. Then took a break and earned my graduate degree in my 40s, became a professor, published a textbook, then started an internet business that I sold before the dot com crash (and traveled the world), then went back to being a design professor (and more world travel as a paid speaker at design conferences). Now at age 60 no plans for retirement as I love my job with excellent benefits and income, two months paid vacation, no boss to answer to, and seldom have to be on campus more than 4 days per week. My thought is if you love what you do you will excel and the money will follow.

For me, I think having an education first is more important than a car. Toys will come later. I was 24yrs old when I started my own EMS system in south Texas Helping the people out in the rural area and low income families with their love ones . Now I am age 30 and have the time to play with my kids and cars.
