Ordered - 10/13/08 at 7:00 AM

It will likely be over 6 months later when I get my car.... in the meantime, I watch people drive around in 2010 Camaro's that they didn't even preorder..... some are even Camaro SS rental cars.

I still have to pull teeth to get a 4 digit status code....

customer service is useless

I'll add my complaints here....

Ordered 10/14.

Made changes to the order on 11/25. Dealer stated he was unable to make updates and cancelled the order and reinitiated it. Soooo my order was pushed back to an original order date of 11/25. This is a critical flaw in their order system.

So i called the 1800 number, gave my order number and still no TPW. Dealer states that I probably not get the car until September. (which i think is BS, he is honestly probably clueless.)

The fact remains that it seems the pre-order process means nothing. Nice way to take care of your customers.

how is that at all reasonable to say?

i'm mean, honestly wtf people? we dont have our cars cause of a reason... gm wants you to get your car but it has to be a car that's perfect.

so the fact that you ordered an early RP6 car means your accepting the possibility of being held back thanks to being the first.

it's just the way it goes, the cars after the issues are fixed are getting shipped out and into customers hands...

in all honestly, stfu for once with all this whinning. there's 14k people who preordered if not more, just cause you did and you dont have your car the day after you order doesn't mean you need to start bashing the company and the people behind it.

I have checked out some Challenger forums in the past and -

There are people STILL waiting for early-ordered cars.

Many are now buying out of dealer stock, at reasonable prices, and then canceling their orders.

It will be a little while before Camaro production is at that point, but at 5000 plus Camaros per month, not that long.

If there's a petition, I'm in as well. Although I ordered in February, I don't expect to see my order right away, but I also don't expect others who ordered yesterday get their car in a few weeks!

Maybe the reason for pre-orders was to get dealerships to get some money from us so that they could in turn give it to GM to keep them afloat.

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm seriously considering giving up after reading all the other posts on Camaro5...maybe I can get a Rustang...

So AVIS rental cars should come prior to Customer pre-orders?

So QA and constraints are excuses for not having an order tracking system?

Dealer stock (for sale on the lot) being built before pre-orders ????

There are issues with priorities, Some members recieveing cars that have ordered in 09 vs the people who ordered in 08.

By all means I am willing to wait my turn, but it seems that the pre-order system means nothing. Please prove me wrong, but ordering within the first month to month and 1/2 should mean something for us who put are hard earned money as a down payment which I am sure someone is making interest on.

So its okay with you that some people who ordered 4 months after some of us have their cars already and its okay with you that AVIS got 50 some cars built before the majority of pre-orders?

You don't think that it is reasonable to expect that pre-order means getting your order earlier than those who do not pre-order?

And sometimes that GT500 looks so appealing http://www.garage419.com/episode/419_20090430 (I hate to admit it). I'd love to see a video like this of a Camaro to hold everyones interest. It would be a better advertising tool than putting a Camaro in a showroom too!

I do think that all pre-orders should precede all regular orders. And no, I'm not just saying that because I pre-ordered... logically it just makes sense, IMO. I didn't order until February, but I don't think it's fair that first-day orders still haven't been built yet, regardless of how the "allocation" system works. But, I don't know all of the details, and I'm still getting my car sooner than I expected (I was originally expecting October), so I really have no room to complain... just my thoughts

So I DAMN sure agree with Hylton.

People are going to walk onto a lot and buy SSs before some others get theirs who ordered 6 freakin months ago.

What makes me angry is that there will be people who didn't even KNOW about this car until a week ago who will get one.
If the Camaro doesn't arrive really soon, I WILL BECOME A CHALLENGER OWNER!
I hope the Camaro comes real soon! I have once already almost bought the challenger. I like both and feel very twisted right now. But, I've owned my '67 since 1977. I really hope the Camaro make the win!
