I finally made it to the Atco Yesterday. I trapped a consistent 117 mph with my highest being 118 mph. My best time was 12.51 @ 118 mph with a 2.10 60 ft. I'm very glad to know that my car gained 4.5 mph from the cam. Now I need to focus and getting that 60 ft down so that I can break into the low 12's.

I also raced a Boss 302 on my way back home. We ran 4 times and i beat him every single time. first roll was about an 80 mph roll, and the rest of the runs were from about 60 mph rolls.

Great MPH. but 12:50s aren't going to cut it. I don't think strictly DRs will get you to match your son's 11:70s. DRs on my stock 20" wheels" when cammed got me 2-3 tenths. A switch to lightweight 18" wheels and DRs gained another 10 tenth. So 4-tenths total. Again I never got to race in ideal conditions, so you may fare better.

Looking at your original post your Son's 1.90 60' wasn't that great either on his 11:70s pass, so he has room to improve also. I think you will definitely need lightweight wheels and a M/T or NT05R drag radial in the (17-18") range to have a real shot at him on the track, roll race you are good already

Keep us informed this is interesting.

I think you need more than just adding a cam .

1.9 60' aren't good on street tires? I don't think Ehab cares about beating me down the track, he just wants his car to be faster (trap speed/from a roll). I have only raced a stock boss at the track so I'm not sure how much I would beat one from a roll but if Ehab was only able to put a car length on it I'm not sure if that's enough to beat me. Hopefully we get to line up soon

Congrats, now its time to invest in some 18inch wheels, lower control arms, cradle bushings and 305/45 MT DR's. If you could some how get your 60ft in the 1.6 range it would run mid 11's.

I don't really know much about radials. But I'm just curious. If I went out and bought 305/45 Mt Dr's, Would I be able to drive the car on the street ? Or would they have to be strictly for the track?

You can drive it on the street. Down side is thread wear, and get caught in the rain sucks. I used to drive on bigs/little's all time. But as said it sucks with DR's out back. Main reason I went to my 20's for street use. Now bigs/littles only go on when headed to track.

The cheapest and best way to do this is either get some c6 zo6 replica front wheels 18 x 9.5 with a 40mm offset or some TSW Nurb's same size. Put some 305/45R18 Mickey Thompson ET street radial II's on them and just bolt them up before leaving for the track. Go to the track with them run your car then bolt your standard wheels back on when you get home. As long as you dont drive them in the rain or try some road course manuevers with them they will be fine.

Sorry I assumed your 1.90s and 11:70s were on DRs, if you are doing this on street tires this is very impressive. Could you list your mods? When and if I decide to mod my 5.0 I may follow your lead as it's obviously a potent combination.

Dr's and stick cars are a bad mix. You can not dump the clutch on a Dr's. You already broke your axle once dumping it at 2k at 23psi on street tires. You need a slick as it has a lot more sidewall flex. Plus Dr's are very temperamental. They have to be heated properly and if they break loose its hard to recover so the run is lost. I guarantee you will break your car again the way you drive(dumping the clutch) on Dr's.

Went back to Atco again today. Was finally able to cut a 2.0 60', and run a 12.3 at 117.97 mph.
