The dealer cannot substitute Z/28 part numbers for warranty work with a ZL1 VIN number...

Here is one I got in. The bowtie is held on with two torx screws and a retaining plate.

I'll look closer later today but I didn't see any when I removed it yesterday.

I thought the rotors were listed here recently at @1400/per???

Were they on here and are now gone for some odd reason?

No there hasn't been a part number listed for the rotors yet.

They do? Why?

By the time the fluid and oil temps are where they need to be, so are the brakes. Until then, you are going to take it easy anyway. And if you don't, you will only make that mistake once.

My quess is they are going to be about $1,000 to $2,000 each. You will also need the correct size caliper, correct compound pad so they work correctly. I am going to assume that the car has a different Master Cylinder with the corrected Pedal ratio. It may also have different size lines with a proportioning valve running to the rear so you can control the brake Bias

There is more to just putting these rotors/brakes on the car. Your better off buying the ZL1 Brake kit as it is matched to the stock master cylinder in your car and trust me when the bore sizes of the master cylinder is off the entire brake system is useless.
That's interesting.

I've tracked multiple PCCB and CSC brake equipped cars. I've also installed and assisted in developing application specific ceramic kits for a European, F1 technology partner, supplier of brake systems.

Calipers, brake master cylinder, brake lines, proportioning valve are identical between CSC/PCCB and iron brake systems. The Z/28 does not have a cockpit adjustable brake bias.

You suggest installing a ZL1 brake kit to the Z/28 which completely compromises the lap after lap durability and pedal feel of the ceramics.

I've never experienced compromised braking ability of any ceramic setup when cold, they work fantastic on street under any condition. The reduced rotating mass and unsprung weight contribute benefits to street and track use. The one accurate statement you made is that ceramic rotors do require a specific pad material.

It's important for Z/28 owners and prospective owners to understand they are getting the very best possible braking system, installed as OE, for the intended use of the car. I would not consider buying the Z/28 if it were not equipped with ceramic rotors.

Rear wheel retail price added. Not as bad as expected.
