So just so I'm clear this tb works well without porting the stock im? The stock im is what 93 then stock tb is 90 so what would my tb be after porting? 93? It would be going with the rotofab intake.

TB is still 90mm. It is just the area in front of the blade that is ported.

This.

The TB's are OEM that are ported to remove the hump and open up the front side of the TB. The throat isn't touched at all. Bo's mod is well documented in this thread. No where does it say you need to port anything to make it work better. If you had a BBK 95mm TB, you'd want to port the intake.

LISTEN TO HIM!! I got a tb, was so excited to install it. Even bought a brand new torque wrench that torqued to low settings.

Went to install, all three bolts went fine. Last one (always the case) I went too far bc I didn't hear the click and SNAP!

I freaked the hell out. Hours later and pliers and special drill bits later I got it out.

Returned the torque wrench and tightened the bolts "just tight".

Now I got a new Camaro (2011 to a 2014) and bought another tb and this time hand tightened the bolts.

I read the torque is 89in lb. Is this equivalent to 7ft lbs? I just hand tightened mine for now but I'm thinking about using my tq wrench

Explain this to me. Maybe I was just never tame enough in my driving but I noticed the port reduces the jerk and hesitation when taking off. How does the hump improve driveability?

Don't use the torque wrench. Hand/ratchet tight is enough. Trust me.

I'm not GM so I don't know exactly what it was suppose to fix. The hump would slow the onset of air moving into the TB, thus creating the lag that everyone feels with the stock TB. While the performance minded people HATE that lag, I could see where the non performance minded people would see this as making it easier to drive.

Anyone put a drop of blue Loctite on the treads? (just to rest a little easier.) Or do you see any issues with doing this? (I mean just a drop or two. A very small amount.)
