![]() and decide not to race... ![]() Anyway, the mustang gt had more TOP END, but the Z28 got out the gate faster. That car would sit down in the back and launch like nobody's business. By the time the mustang got going, the race would be over........

They all look good on the road so if a v8 fits your finances go ahead. My LT has never had a problem getting admiring looks and props.

No discussion there. Completely agree with that. Look back 10yrs+ and see what you'd get for that money. This car is way ahead. I do wish they made it a bit more nostalgic looking though like the Challenger. Honestly, the Challenger's my fave for looks and if it came in a vert, I would have bought it instead. But you can't go wrong with any of these cars.

It sure is! .. I really don't understand all the V6 bashing that goes on here. I rented a vert V6 in Florida and had a great time driving it. It handled great and had plenty of power. I ended up coming home and buying my SS, but I did consider a V6 Convertible they had on the lot.
IMHO, the V6 Camaro is the best deal, economically, to be had at any car dealership. It's a fantastic car for the price.

I should revise my statement about V6 cars not being able to sound good. I guess it depends on a lot of things. I had a '91 Cavalier which had the 3.1L engine good for all of 140hp I believe and it sounded really good. Maybe the firing order? It had that gurgling sound that I don't seem to hear from any new cars anymore. It even sounded better than the 3.8L in the Grand Prix/Impala's. And that was a stock exhaust! My neighbor has the Infiniti G37 and is in love with the sound. I think they sound pretty much like all other rice out there only a bit less annoying tone. But ultimately, it's the monitone sound that most cars have which I don't care for. I think what attracts people to the V8 sound is the harmonics or changes in tone, burbling etc. Maybe the newer engines are just so different in how they are made that they can't resonate in that way?

I've already posted my confessional about V6 vs V8. I didn't read every post in this thread but did anyone mention the ride of the SS vs V6? I thought it was completely different having owned both now. The SS simply has that "big car" ride even though curb weights are only a little over 200lbs. For me, that was a added bonus.
