car is in the shop..originally said they could not reproduce the problem and would not replace the parts then the service manager talked to the gm tech ppl and gave the okay!

he said im getting the new "kit"

which i thnk means clutch, throwout, and pressure plate. he said he will look @ the flywheel when its apart and over night it if needed!!

my dealer is the best!

Anyone know what builds (or date) this possibly affects? My VIN is ~72,100... I have owned it 4 weeks so I'm still breaking it in but I'm just curious if it will be a problem. Even after just a few weeks it seems like the clutch fully engages near the top of the pedal and when I first got it it did seem closer to the floor... maybe just the temperament of a brand new clutch though The car has about 480 miles on it right now... no burn outs or hard launches with it so far.. chirped 2nd a few times but nothing too serious

ok so got the car back.. didnt get a new clutch just the flywheel and pressure plate

tech said car drives no different to me it feels like night and day, much smoother the clutch engage point is much higher up... its so smooth its hard to even tell where exactly it engages- have to get used to it.. did a couple high speed runs to test it kinda smelled like clutch- maybe the parts have 2 break in?

Happened to me. Stalled on easy take off, then foot slid(wet grass)
then a moderate launch to get going, boom pedal halfway down...

heading to dealer tomorrow...

I thought if they changed your pressure plate, then they change your clutch as well?

Anyways i feel my clutch has always had a problem disengaging. Whenever I would shift 2nd to 3rd without waiting a sec. or two with the clutch in, it would feel real clunky and sometimes as though it's hitting a little metal rattling it's way in a bit.

Well today I noticed my reverse grinds now hen I shift into it. I press the clutch down, put it in reverse, and it grinds for a split second. If I press the clutch in and count to 2, it will go in without grinding. Also if I press the clutch, shift into any other gear and then into reverse, no grind. If I hit the clutch and immediate put it in reverse, ouch a grind that hurts to hear! I took it to the dealer when I thought 3rd was a bit clunky but dealer said everything was fine, I really doubt they even checked my tranny. Do you think the "new kit" (clutch, pressure plate) would fix this issue? I bought my first new car so I don't have to worry about car problems.. :(

Apparently there are no clutches available.

I had the clutch bump happen to me once a couple thousand miles ago. Any other V6er's having issues?

mines been in the shop 2 weeks. Getting a new clutch plate, pressure plate, and slave cylinder. Also they tore the trans down to check for damage due to the grinding and needed parts, but trans parts seem to all be on backorder. I wonder why that is.

I was on my 8th 1/4 mile run for the night and that exact thing happened to me as well but I left the hole in 1st hard with the lauch control on and when I went to go into 2nd gear the clutch pedal froze on me against the firewall. Embarassing to quit in the middle of the race like that.
My suggestion to help this from reoccurring would be to take breaks in between runs and watch your temperatures. This is the first time for it to occur on me with 23,000 miles on the motor and after 7 hard runs down the track.
My car did smell of a burnt clutch for the remainder of the night but is driving well still after it cooled down. Its a shame we have to to encounter these things though.
Now the question is when and where it will occur again. Hmm just time for another upgrade lol
