Yeah I guess this is aimed at the niche market of "Guy with enough money to have a non street legal drag race car, but not enough money to build/ get one built himself"

I personally think that this is just so FoMoCo can keep the record of 'most model variants ever'. Seriously. What are we at now? 56?

If camaro made a NHRA non street legal race car i would buy it no doubt without hesitation....it aint trickin' if ya got it

It's a factory built drag car effectively offering racers a turn key car for Stock and Superstock classes. It's built for the guy who races in either of those classes and who understands that, if he built said car from scratch, it would cost more than this and likely not work as well for his trouble. I'm not following how this is a difficult strategy to understand? Ford wanted to dominate drag racing at this level so they developed and built a racecar that would accomplish exactly that and offer it to their drivers. Ford got what they wanted, they dominate drag racing on this level.

Some people dont understand what it takes to run in certain classes I guess

Maybe the guy who posted that should get his fact's straight. He said the Shelby was only 1/10th faster, maybe with a bad driver but otherwise it would smoke the Camaro. I guess I should'nt expect Suckota lover's too know any better.

ha ha - the subject heading is misleading!

Mustang owners are kicking themselves (not because of the Camaro) but because the 2010 Mustang's interior is a million times better than the previous iteration, and the 2011 Mustang GT will have 400hp. Maybe they should have waited!

My point is this: the 2010 Camaro isn't perfect, and no doubt GM is going to improve the quality of the interior in a few years, and probably release the Z28 and probably the version after this will also look hotter and have better features. For example, barely a year later and the new Camaros have backup sensors, and in June 2010 there's an HUD. Do you wish you waited a few more months?

What's your opinion on all this? I'm justifying buying the Camaro (still waiting for mine) because I'm a nostalgic fellow and I'm likely to keep my car "forever". Therefore it's worth spending more on this car rather than perpetually upgrading sedans (because I get bored of them after a while). I figure it's best to just buy a cheap but practical sedan (and accept that I will get bored of it) and spend a bit more to get an additional fun and hot car (Camaro) that I will keep much longer (therefore I don't care about upgrading the sedan because it's not my "hot" car, thereby saving money - see buying a Camaro is fiscally prudent! ;-) ).

However, am I going to kick myself when another iteration gets released with much nicer interior or hotter looks/features in a few years time? Or do you think this version is special in some way, maybe because it has been immortalized by the Transformers movies?

What's your view?
