Trying different things to get rid of the Surp belt Squeal, New belt, new Idler, it over by the alternator area... drive it for a hr and it kinda fades away...start it the next day in the morning and she's off and squealing again... Side note, when I bought it last year, they had put a new battery and new alternator in because of slow starter turnover...(someone has installed a new starter also at some point. Long story, longer the same squeal is in my Daily beater 05 BMW X5, they used a Carquest alternator in that , been through 2 alts in the bmw for bearing noise and ......belt squeal. I'm semi retired Mechanic of 28yrs. If a customer came back for something like this? I took all pullys off or cleaned them with brake cleaner.. anything to degrease the pullys, even went as far as scotch pad the smooth pullys and also put a new belt on, back then? problem solved. My guess is to remove alt pully, get it soda blasted (black paint removed) and clean everything and try again.... "Nice car, but whats squealing under the hood?", lets not get into the blend door just yet, thats another project... 2012 Camaro ss LS3 semi stock. As for the slow starter turn over, I knew ahead of time what that is all about, small gauge postive wire and GM's sad excuse for grounding ;-) That, I can handle..... Wife has a 07 Tahoe, I know ground issues, trust me...

Finally completed install of my new starter, a Powermaster 9509 XS Torque starter. Due to my work schedule it turned into a freaking 3 week process. First time driving my car in a month, almost soiled me pants.
No more hot start/Stabilitrak issues - this thing is a beast!

Took her to the track on Tuesday. Ran a best of 11.35 @ 133 spinning the tires through 3 gear changes (auto car). On slicks she’d run 10.2-10.4 all day.
