I have to say the V8 grill is growing on me. I kinda like it better now than the V6.. Go figure as I was one like Captain America who really disliked it at first..

Boy it sure would be fun to get to abuse them, that is the job I want...where do I apply.

Not the ones in these pictures..... these are pre-production saleables, which means GM bigwigs will get them first, and then after they get tired of them they can/will be sold to the public. While these cars will still serve as last minute models for minor changes in production techniques and/or part design (noticed I said minor - that means stuff like weather stripping and wire loom), these cars are every bit a production car, just not heading to a dealer with a window sticker quite yet.

There's a whole thread somewhere about the destruction of IVERs and pre-pro non-saleables. Scott even goes through the legalities as to why those cars CAN'T be sold to the public no matter how much money anyone offers them, and thus must be destroyed.

Thanks for the info, I will search for the thread....Do these have the first V.I.N. numbers? Will the one Rick Hendrick bought at Barrett-Jackson be one of these?

And just when will these cars be on the retrofit block? Because I think these vehicles could turn out to be a rarity and collectors item if someone did their research on the VIN..

I would actually buy a CTF retrofit to say "Yeah, this was one of the first..one of the VERY FIRST 5th Gens.."

My understanding is that Hendrick has bought the first PRODUCTION car off the line when it starts up in March. What we saw at Barrett-Jackson was just a show car for illustration purposes.

Yes, if you recall Fbod said that CTF cars would be rolling like a river out of Oshawa until March. ON the 16th, CTF production will cease (for the most part) and the next car in line will be Hendrick's Camaro. So I guess the last shift of March 15th will be building the final CTFs..

And 1st Shift March 16th will be building full production cars..

Wow, looks cool!... Did you know that I'd seen an SS in Leipzig (Germany) last Wednesday. The driver might take a trip to Leipzig, starting from the Nuerburgring. I'm sorry that I can't offer you a pic. I had no camera with me.

Rick Hendrick won the first true full production Camaro, which hasn't been produced yet. He can spec it out in any color and any option combination he wants. I think the one that was on the block was a CTF. It's possible it was a late stage IVER. In either case, Rick is not getting the car that was on the block.
