HELP??? I received my tracking number from Pacific Stereo today, I ordered the KTX-CMO-S, They have shipped me the KTX-CMO. My qusetion, or Dilema is i have a 2010 2SS. Will i lose my steering wheel control, Or is it retained even with this kit? I remember someone posting here that Alpine was only gonna market the KTX-CMO, If this is true why is the KTX-CMO-S still available for pre-order only???? HELP???

Is it true the gen 2 won't have the curve towards the bottom? I got the alpine z130 with the metro kit right now. I'm just concerned that the curve won't look right with my unit. Opinions???

+1 - Does anyone know the answer to Kevinshawnm's question? I'm looking to order this kit as well, but won't do it if I can't control the stereo from the steering wheel. Also, I thought the head unit itself came with an option to hook up to the steering wheel. So... why does the kit offer steering wheel compatibility when the head unit can connect to the steering wheel as well?

The units with steering wheel control are ready for this feature but require an optional module to interface between the car's steering wheel controls and the unit. They do not have this interface built in (except for a very few units like the new Alpha-Nav AN5650NV double DIN navigation system). The optional module converts the car's steering wheel controls to a signal that the head unit understands.

This is more important in the Camaro, as the connection between the steering wheel controls and the factory radio is through the bus system, and is not an analog signal. This requires a special converter, which is built into the Alpine/Scosche kit. Even units that have a built-in interface still need the signal from the electronics built in to the Alpine/Scosche kit to function properly.

And it's off to the paint shop along with some other pieces.
