I could work at GM for all you know. I mean who knows - without proof (even fbodfather, we just trust that its really him) we don't know who anyone is on this or any message board and it's really hard to take anyone's word at face value. until i see the production car sitting on the dealer floor, with the gas cap on the passenger side, i really dont think they intend to put it there for the american release.

** This does not mean I am not wrong **

they could be doing that for all i know. but i have seen it before where the gas door is on different sides depending on what part of the world you are in (on older cars). maybe they dont want to make that kind of expense, maybe they do.

it would be a lot easier to handle if the people trying to "correct" my thinking (and who are you to correct me anyway?) did it with a little less attitude and a little less "i know better than you do".

all i was doing was trying to present some thoughts and make people think a little deeper about the direction they are going to go in.

if you are all resigned to "this is the way the prod car is gonna be" then GM will build it with the gas cap on the passenger side and with the god aweful headlights and without anything that made the car cool in the concept phase. cause they will go their own direction if you dont provide feedback and steer them the right way...

just something *else* to think about.

guess im done here.
Um we do know the fbodfather is the fbodfather.

Boys you know what to do.....

We are not trapped inside a box, we are trapped inside REALITY. With the time frame that GM is shooting for there is now way they can change the tins of this car before they want to start production.

Not saying that a surprise wouldn't be nice, but there are reasons for the changes they made, and all of them are reasonable.

Ok, ok, ok....let's try to bring this to a close and keep the disagreement to a respectful kind.

black34V6 is entitled to his respectful ideas and that is final. He IS thinking outside the box and there is nothing wrong with that. He didn't say those things for FACT were how it was happening and how it WAS going to end up. It was more of a "what if."

The majority of us want the gas cap in it's concept location. camero and Scott (fbodfather) both told us that wasn't going to happen.

We talk about the headlights. Again, camero and Scott tell us those won't be the headlights.

The spyshots you see are (according to Scott and camero) are of the real prepro Camaro. There is no reason to put up pix of numerous fake cars and flat out lie to us that those are the real deal.

Fbodfather is who he says he is. I know this for FACT. If you need proof, well...I'll explain, but that shouldn't be necessary.

camero...well, he was verified by Scott...after numerous members had issues believing this was true, Scott posted he was for real.

What you say, black, could be a possibility. Almost anything is possible. But, with all do respect, that just wouldn't happen. Sure, they could suprise us w/ the gas cap location, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Let's all be cool, okay? No need to make certain comments poking fun at anothers ideas...just respectfully disagree......if you need.

This IS true. It hasn't been established. But, NO ONE HAS said it was going to be on the side.

I for one think that Scott still has something up his sleeve in terms of that and what we will see will make us very happy. I asked scott personally about this fact and he could NOT tell me anything (of course) but mentioned that "remember its a global platform". And my wonderful design/engineering (or lack thereof) common sense tells me that the most acceptable "global" location might be something similar to the 1969 Camaro's fuel filler door location...
Yup...could be possible.

We'll just have to wait and see. Honestly I have been "keeping the faith" since before the pics leaked out (before the concept was unveiled) and will continue to do so. Scott / GM haven't let me down on this concept yet and I'm not expecting them to because I think this time they did it right. They seem to be listening to the community A LOT MORE than they did in the past - and I think it's because we've shown that we are a huge driving force.
Very true.

anyway..just some thoughts...

...all of you took my post the wrong way -- too much readiness to go off half-cocked at anyone who says something that is contradictory to what is popular opinion... - not trying to be inflammatory here, just pointing something out.

anyway, the point you all got wrong was that you all thought i was calling out fbodfather as being false and not scott settlemire as we all know he is. what i am, in fact saying is that for those of us that HAVEN'T met him - we go on faith that everyone else says that fbodfather really is the man and leave it at that. i was speaking more of camero - considering i had not seen any of the chatter that was fbodfather telling us that he was legit.

I'll be "the bigger person" and step back a bit and apologise to everyone even though I didn't get upset and didn't say anything that was inflammatory, it was just taken the wrong way. but again, whoever's feathers i ruffled - sorry.

-R

p.s. thx to TAG UR IT for being a good mod! - hey TAG, just curious, u a LEO?

on a related note...

...just so everyone knows where i'm coming from (so we can get back on track with the topic at hand)...

i dealt with a lot of "scott said this and scott said that" before i actually met the man, regarding the Chevy SS concept being the next camaro and other drawings and opinions being told to me as "from their friend who works at chevy and etc etc".

when the pics were leaked everyone said that the car looked like crap and i kept telling them that they were only mockups and got repeatedly told that, "no - this was pretty much the finished product."

now no -- i dont know how the auto industry works.

and yes -- common sense tells me that sheetmetal wouldnt be finalized and then reworked.

all i was trying to say is NOT "gm is lying" - but WAS "gm might have just used what was lying around to come up with the closest representation possible in an effort to SAVE MONEY in building their test mules" and that is why the auto companies work so hard at camoflauging them - to keep the public (and papparazzi) from getting the wrong idea about their next big thing, which is why leaked pics to the internet are such a big deal as well...

i said it before and i'll say it again - i design websites and having designs get to the client before you are ready to present them is one of the worst things that can happen to you... im sure the same thing can be said for the auto industry and that is why i will continue to reserve judgement on the car until it is in a dealership.

(no im not pissed and no i havent "lost it")

I have hopes, and my hopes will continue until they are disproven by the actual vehicle in front of me at a dealership - that is all.

All good over here black. And no, I never thought you went off your rocker or were trying to be inflammatory...I wasn't trying to come off as being rude, nor did I think you were either. I think some of the replys to your post could have been..."different."

black, seriously, you'd be suprised if you'd go back and check some of Scott's and camero's posts. You will find some good info there bout the headlights, gas cap location, and other stuff. Just some info to take in...it'll be helpful. Nothing there is a "final" release from GM, but it's info

And back to your regular programming!!!

oh, and no...not a LEO...am a cancer.

You know don't like getting teased. These photos of the mule really just kill me. Yeah I know that's not the final grill, headlights, gas door and so on. I know that there gonna be more changes. I just wish we knew more about engine specs instead of listening about how the G8 is comperable to the new Camaro's possible engine. The suspence is killing me. I'm tired of the flood of mustangs in my town. Ewww.
