I would say at this time that i would not recommend this experience to anyone. I initially had a 273hp mod tune, 281hp cammed tune and then today went to Phil of Tampa Tuning for a fresh look at tuning my car in hopes of finding the missing power to finish with a final of 287hp.. I will say Phil did a great job as my car is the most responsive and runs better than it has yet, the ride home was smooth. My disappointment in my expectations and my wallet... so here goes ... give it a minute ill finish this with a rant of sorts

I purchased the cams from Mace knowing that to get to the roughly 45rwhp gain it would require a tune...Mace did contact SVS tuning to help in assisting with this venture... before i go there... in the past two days in Talking with Phil and Ryan of GPI whom was so generous to send me his file of a cammed lfx he did the general consensus was that the tuning was off... so i made the trip to tampa.. Now you might wonder why i did go this route.. so i was initially going to pay a retune of 300 by my tuner, that tune wasnt right and so i went with the option of going to Phil at 500 ..... and the reason for this was because it seemed more logical that my tuner was missing something in the tuning... The other option of help/assistance from SVS would come in the form of school training class and tuning program for $880 usd.... my tuner was willing to go half with me on the program and retune at n/c but like him, me and others felt it wasnt necessary.... at this point maybe there is an unlogical method to tuning method to these cams or maybe not and are not as advertised... i dont know and at this point to pissed and frustrated to spend another dime to find out.... I dont blame Cameron of SVS for wanting to sell his services , but i do think i should have been told if it was going to require purchasing a special program to boot.... i dont know what else i can say with this shitty taste in my mouth...

To say I'm disappointed would be a huge understatement. There may have been a misunderstanding somewhere along the line with SVS and ourselves. I'll contact them again to see if something can be arranged.

Kindest Regards,
Steve

Dennis, did Cameron not send the tune he used to Phil ahead of of time? Thought that was supposed to happen. It's sounds like he fell off the planet. Hope Mace come thru for you.

Corvette Camaro tuner in Tampa Orlando

Hey guys,
This is partially my fault because I didn't look to see what the correction factor the dyno was on. I usually read it in standard form, but someone switched it to uncorrected form, so Ill post up all the graphs from both readings.

In summary, that Camaro came to us and we did two base time runs. We couldn't finish the runs because the car was leaning out to much and causing knock. In the uncorrected setting, the car pulled back to back run 1 was 248 RWHP 230 RWTQ and run 2 was 253 RWHP 220 RWTQ.

Those same runs in Standard mode were still lower than the last shop, but to stay on the same grove of the numbers game run 1 was 258 RWHP and 240 RWTQ and run two was 264 RWHP and 230 RWTQ.

Then we started working the calibration. We opening up the intake and exhaust valve in several different sequences . Both individually and in sequence to see what the cam liked. When we made more TQ the HP numbers fell. When we made more HP the TQ number fell. Then we figured out the cams to liked certain valve sequences to occur for low end TQ and high end HP. You can see where we made 13 runs after we dialed in the low end for pick up to understand what the cams were trying to do.

So for full disclosure, Ill post up both graphs with all the runs, and in the Standard mode ( which is normally read) we gained almost 50 RWHP and 13 RWTQ from the arrival pulls on the peak. Ill break down the graphs more later in the day

Again, my bad for not looking at the correction factor. I didn't realize it until I finished the car's after Dennis's. Like I tell everyone, my focus is always the scanner, not the HP numbers. The graphs will help the numbers guys and explain the difference

Ending numbers:
Standard mode are 304 RWHP 253 RWTQ.
Uncorrected numbers are 286 RWHP 239 RWTQ
Phil
