Here's a good read from one of the guys over on the impala forums...

Is the 80mm Overkill TB enough for the LFX 3.6L engine?

This guy drag races his Impala, and seems to do very thorough testing and thinking. He drag races his Impala, and is knocking on the door of a 13.99x run. Pretty impressive.

So, first CAI intake elbow is a bust. Look like I could make a 90 work (with a bit of flex) IF the legs were long enough. This one said it was 4" legs, but is only 2" legs....

round 2...

I just took a road trip about 1.5hours away to get new seats. I was interested to see how the mpg was with the 80mm tb, ported intake, intake extender and the tune. I did zip around town on the same tank of gas before hand so it's not all highway. Maybe 20-30 miles of city, getting into the gas driving and then highway 75 mph driving with cruise on mostly with my Vtc still on sp2. Total mpg was 25.4 on 93 octane. That wasn't even trying to save gas. It pulls out nicely in 6 th gear without dropping it into 5th.

So true. It's the gear I put in going ~75mph on the highway to get better than 10mpg. But I've got to say it's not as useless as it use to be. To me.
