Just got my intake installed. The only problem I had was I couldn't get the bolt in the side mount where you take the Ground Lug out. I couldn't get the bolt in to hold the bracket on so I just left it off and stuck the Ground Lug in the hole in the CAB to plug the hole.

Had the same problem. Just enlarge the hole in the bracket to give yourself some room for adjustment. A drill press is a handy tool!

I dunno maybe I worded my previous post wrong.

The bolt fits IN the bracket just fine, I can't get the bolt to screw into the panel of the car, it just goes crooked like the hole is stripped but it's not stripped since I can put the Ground Lug back in the hole just fine.

Leaving it out won't affect anything so I'm not worried about it.

The box really should be attached in that 3rd. place.

Maybe the bolt you are trying to screw in is NOT the right one, that's why it will not screw in ........
(ck. fig.#12... 6mmx12mm hex bolt).....Try to screw it in without the bracket if you can't then it is the wrong bolt......
It will be harder to get at it now that you have the box attached. You could bend the box back a little with a small block or something to get at it.

You said the hole is not stripped, So the bolt is stripped or it's the wrong size !
You can't do it with the ground lug attached to the bracket.

The sound of the motor really sounds quite different...overall i couldn't be happier with the product and highly recommend it...i'll post up some pics in a few...
Could you possibly due an audio clip of the GMPP ? I have it ordered and am curious about the sound...I have an Airaid on another car....good CAI !
Oh yeah, just thought I would mention this, you can get a prefilter sock that goes over the filter...its easy to clean and saves time...also ,I do not use the lubricant ,it will sling a code as soon as that oil hits the mass air sensor...thats a problem in the CAI industry....I use the pre filter sock...then ya dont need the oil...just my 2 cents...hope this helps.

If you notice the intake tube isn't black anymore. It has the water transfer printing done or better known as hydro carbon fiber. It is going to be re-done, we didn't quite like the way it came out the first time. It was the first Airaid v6 tube he did I believe. It is a hit and miss with this stuff the first time or two.

I am working with the guy from Lone Star Hydrografx here in Spring, TX. I am having several items done and when it all gets finished, I'll be posting up some photos of everything. This just really brings the plain black plastic stuff under the hood to life. I can't wait to see my engine cover when it's done. He sent me a photo of my original engine cover he was trying first before he started on my painted one so he could get an idea how it will work out. Let me tell you, the v6 cover is going to look so much better this way.

If you want some stuff dipped, check 'em out. He is a member on this site and tell him Kelly sent ya.

Just gives it the appearance that it is carbon fiber.

My other hobby is collecting football helmets. I don't know if anyone remembers but Army wore these awesome Camo helmets for last years Army-Navy game- Anyway, the helmets were "painted" using this technique.

tarjac.com did the helmets for them and is where I found out about this process- it's unbelievably cool...here is an episode from Orange County Choppers about it
