I'm trying to hook you guys up. I bring in MORE product than requested to avoid back orders. I got your order dragom, it will ship tomorrow since it's after our cutoff time (3pm EST) and our UPS pickup.

Yeah, my order on GMPARTS is back ordered as well. I'd like to get it installed, just waiting for my buddy to get back from vegas.

Got my radio reprogramed today and it works great. didn't realize that the phone icon would turn on the on star telephone. I thought it was only for bluetooth. So bonus. Works great for changing volume and changing tracks on the Ipod.

just installed my switches and harness. was an absolute breeze. no need to disconnect the battery or unplug the air bag.

just set the airbag on top of the steering wheel while you are working and you're fine. took me 20 minutes to do. now i have to find the time to take it to the dealership and have the radio programmed.

this is such a simple thing but it's so cool. thanks to everyone that made this happen !!!!

I got raped by the dealership. Warning this could cost you 243 dollars. Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas Texas, don't take your car there. They don't know how to do it. They charged me 75 for the download and then 1 - 1/2 hrs labor just to update my BCM. I'll never take my car there ever again. What a rip off!!! But at least it's done. They didn't even have to install the harness or the switch. Everything works and I'm happy but not happy with how much they charged me. 90 dollars an hour.

Ouch... that hurts techno... I called and got a flat price before I took mine in. They overcharged you by $25 for the download (they pay $50) and they should of just charged you one hour for the labor. Shouldn't have been more than $160. I had mine do the BCM reprogram and the radio update for the PDIM and it cost me $162 total. Sorry you got hosed on the price but, at least you're up and running.

yeah the harness is working great. I will never be going to that dealer again. They told me some BS story that there computers didn't know how to do it and that it took longer than one hour. I was at the dealership for almost 2 hrs. He first quoted me the 110 an hr. Then he came back and said that the download was 75 and they had to update thier computers to do it.

Ok... so I've been lurking for a bit and just got my yellow ls this past Monday. yeah! So I just want to make sure... I've read all the post and the other thread regarding switching out modules so bear with me if you've heard this before. I just want to make doubly sure before I purchase the controls and harness. If I want to take advantage of MY bluetooth phone, I know I have to purchase the steering wheel controls and harness then have the BCM reprogrammed. Do I have to switch out the OnStar control module if I want to use bluetooth on my phone my minutes and and not the OnStar phone and minutes. That's what I'm gathering but like I said, I just want to make triple sure now.

On a side note, I'm glad I came across this forum. Everyone here goes way beyond to help each other out. I'm glad I'm now a part of the Camaro family.

Yes chefmichael, you need to swap out the onstar module to the one with bluetooth to be able to make calls over bluetooth.

$110 an hour? Wow, that's why they call them stealerships. They will screw over anybody they can. Hindsight is 20/20 but, anytime you get anything done, ALWAYS get a total cost price before you take it in. Giving you an hourly price is just setting you up to get taken since they can milk a half hour job to 3 hours. The $50 charge (or $75 in your case) for downloading is standard and it's what they get charged. They're just passing the cost on to you. I think they have to do the download every time for each car but, I could be wrong on that. In any case, anybody that wants to get their BCMs programmed in the future, GET A TOTAL COST QUOTE BEFOREHAND, so this doesn't happen to anybody else.

Damn how much they get you for shipping? As I remember, the switch and the harness only came out to like $50. You're the second person who has had an issue with them not canceling an order. They actually canceled the harness from my order back in April when I figured out they wouldn't ship me the rest of the order until the harness came off of backorder which would be now. Waiting for parts I ordered in March to come in in May was unacceptable. They've got great prices but, their customer service sucks ass.
